My cpanel server has suddenly stopped accepting passwords from my email client. I know the password is right, as I haven't changed any settings lately. I can login to webmail and use neomail, but I get an error when using squirrelmail. Anyone know what this is? I'm running WHM 9.4.0, cPanel 9.4..1-s65 on RH Ent. 3

Try asking/searching at http://forums.cpanel.net , maybe someone else has also faced this issue and knows of a fix?

Same problem here. 3 accounts borked with email "Username/Password Mismatch" error messages during the last week and a half or so.

It could be a corrupt file in your email program, try deleting the account and recreating it, especially if you originally used the auto installer through cpanel.

Thanks, Barry. Now back on board with one of the accounts!
I tried recreating the account in CPanel a few days ago but that did not help. However, the account now works after deleting and recreating in my email client (Opera).
Any luck in resolving your squirrelmail issue, Matt?

If you delete the account in cpanel you loose all emails that are in its que, i wouldnt recommend that.
Try contacting your host about the problem if your a reseller/shared account, they may already have an answer.

There is a discussion at the cpanel forum regarding this. Essentially, you have to upgrade your cpanel to the latest version.

We've had that problem and the solution in the end was that the /tmp file was at 100% might want to check into that.
