Be carefull while updating, if i was you I waited a few more months cause lot of applications are still not ready for php 5, so unless you really need it wait a bit more.

On IPB site I saw that IPB 1.3.1 will not work with PHP 5.
Is that true?

If they say :) it must be true. I haven't tested it, but I had to downgrade some servers due to several scripts not working on it yet.

I for one will not be risking PHP5 on a production server until it has gone through a couple more sub-versions and has been tested by the wider community a bit more thoroughly.

Jelsoft who develop vBulletin, haven't fully tested both their versions against it yet.

php5 works great. Only a few compat problems, nothing a google search or php script update wont fix etc...

Hello,
As a host, I went to php5 and had my technicians immediately downgrade it back because that day, we had so many complaints saying that their script wasnt working or operational because of compatibility issues, otherwise its something I will go for... except im going to wait for it.

We installed php5 only on servers with very little users.

Any servers which already had a big foundation of users, we left at 4.x due to the compat issues.
