I'm trying to use everyDNS.net's services to host a site of mine at home and although I can get to the site just fine, no one else can. I was in mIRC and someone tried something or another to test the site and somehow got an error msg about reverse dns lookup not matching up w/ the dns because of the hostname my ISP gives my IP. So my question of course is, is there a way around this? Would greatly appreciate any help.

How are you connected to the net from home? Router, etc.? I'll assume the machine has software to handle httpd requests, etc., but can you give a bit of background on what you did, what you are using, how it is set up, connection, etc. ?

I'm connected via a cable modem ( @home ). In my everyDNS.com dns settings, my "A" records point to my IP, with the appropriate CNAME to allow for www.MYDOMAIN.com. I'm using Apache on WinXP. Umm, that's about it I guess. The domain I'm trying to host btw, is http://www.lybo.com . Could I maybe add a new CNAME w/ my cable modem's assigned hostname? Add a VirtualHost entry for the assigned hostname? I'll try both of these things since I just thought of them, in the mean time if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them.
