Hey all. I am trying to locate (and therefore contract with) a dedicated host that would allow a customer to store credit cards. Sure, I realize that is vague, so what I mean to say is: I am looking for a host that would allow me to have a server for managing my insecure DB, application, and general front-end of my application AS WELL as an additional server for accessing and storing sensitive data. That additional server would not be publicly accessible.

Basically, I would like to store credit cards (and other sensitive data) on a server that doesn't host my application. If someone knows simply a host that manages data that is not a point of presence on the web, also let me know.

Anyone? Help!

You want 2 servers. A data server thats not accessible on the web and another server that is accessible to both the web and your data server. I hope you know that if you can get to one you can get to the other.

Its easy to set up but keep in mind that if someone breaks into your web server the sensitive data is as good as gone. Encryption is easy and worth every clock cycle.

I am curious if there are any hosting companies that are offering such a service.
