I host two sites, www.visa-mastercard-american-express-credit-cards.com and www.discount-airfare-flights-cheap-airline-tickets.com , and I don't work for them.

But i only have positive things to say about them, and i believe that many other at webhostingtalk.com agree with me =)

I think these are mainly registered for search engine rankings, more than to actually name the site that, though I don't have any info on whether the dash domains actually work for this purpose. I can say that in my travels on the web, I've never had a domain like this come up #1, so based on that, I don't feel they do that much. Then again, I mainly use only google, so maybe it works on some other search engines, etc. Not sure.

Certainly would be a great new thread and discussion.

I am also hosted by them for almost 4 months now and I am satisfied though their support is slower compared to before.
I recommend them to my friends because of value, friendly support...

I host four sites with Aletia and they are great. They offer good services for a cheap price. You can test my domains if you want to see their server speeds:

www.indiadivine.com
www.foodrelief.org
www.dragon-search.com
www.sudarshana.org

I am hosting my site http://www.ridhaa.com with Aletia for last 6 months, and am very satisfied with their service and the features of the package.

Now I am looking for a similar host to have my secon domain hosted on a Windows server.

geez. are they holding a special for people who write good things about them in forums??? ;)

I remember six months ago some people were saying aletia would be just another host of the month. But they have maintained their service at a good level, unlike some other hosts of the past.

And for the price, they give a great configuration.

Geez. Can't people express their satisfaction about their host (and providing their url to prove it) without being doubted too much? ;)

Peace.

I too, have had an account with Aletia Hosting for 8 months now. They are a true all-around great host in my eyes.

As for VhatDaFruit, I haven't talked to support in 6 months and never needed to do so.

hey that's great for Aletia! Who's behind them anyway?

I signed up with Aletia last July after seeing their special on this board.

I've been almost completely pleased with them. They *are* a bit slow to respond to support questions now - but only relatively. They're still much faster than some of the other hosts I've used.

Still, my site is almost *always* up (something that I couldn't say about Site5, where there were months when my sites (I had three sites with them, too) were down more than they were up.

Here's what I'm hosting with them:

http://www.jough.com
http://www.plagiarist.com
http://www.joycean.org
http://www.jamesjoyce.tv

All in all, a very reliable, much bang-for-your-buck host. I'm a happy customer. :)

Don't know who is behind it, but for less than $10, you get 10GB reliable transfer, that's good.

Long time no talk. Needless to say I was quite shocked when I read this comment. While I will admit we have had our share of problems--as any provider does--we have never had a month on any of our shared servers where uptime has been less than 50%. Nothing even close to that. Ever. I suspect if that were the case, we would not still be in business.

In your case, if memory serves me, we went out of our way and provided you with free hosting for two of your additional sites: plagiarist.com and joycean.org (it has been well over a year, so correct me if I'm wrong). I am pretty sure that this was setup under the old Cpanel system (2.0), and there were some Apache configuration issues that kept causing problems for these two, additional sites. I suspect that this is the source of the problems that you are referring to, and I sincerely apologize for them. That was our mistake--the setup of additional websites under a single account was a nonstandard procedure for us at the time, and obviously caused you quite a bit of grief. This was also before we moved out of the VDI data center--where we experienced prolonged network outages on more than one occasion.

At any rate, we have made a great number of changes over the past year and a half since you terminated your service with us--including moving to an entirely different data center. Even now we are in the process of deploying new shared hosting servers and moving accounts from existing servers to these new systems in order to reduce the overall load on our shared hosting servers and increase performance for customers on these servers. Providing customers with reliable service is, and always has been Site5's goal. Unfortunately in some cases, we may fall short. This is to be expected, and all that we (or any other provider, for that matter) can do is learn from these mistakes.

Again, I offer my sincere apologies for the problems that you experienced. I am glad to hear that you have found a provider that suits your needs. Aletia is a great company--I have heard nothing but good about them.

Please feel free to email me directly at mlightner@site5.com if you want to get in touch with me.

Regarding Aletia, I too would have to say I'm satisfied with their service, support and uptime. I've already recommended them to a friend who signed up.

I would also agree that the service and support is somewhat slower than before, but still very acceptable. They used to be on AOL IM all the time, it was really great, you could IM someone whenever you noticed a problem. Now there's a support desk ticket system, so when you e-mail support there's a ticket number and a whole procedure ... I'm sure this makes things less chaotic for their support people, but it does make for less instant solutions.

They're still pretty responsive, especially compared to the hassles I'm having with Enom this weekend :-(

They are okay. Nothing as great as I have seen written here.
Customer support is their strong point.
But, I have seen many slow load times over the past few weeks. I am thinking about moving my site again over this. As a disabled Vet., I count on my income from my sites to eat!
May move back to a web host I had years ago- Hostway. Not cheap, but never any problems.
