Hi I recently got a server from layeredtech and the support has been quite sparse with their support, as it's a self managed server I can understand. I'm a server noob and I know next to nothing about server stuff. Well today exim went down for I dunno what reason, it was running fine for 4 days. I was able to send and recieve email fine. So I email support and this is what they replied

When logging into your server and trying to start exim i recived this error:

host# ./exim start

sendmail: sendmail cannot be called directly from a shell with the
current user id

antirelaydCould not create INET socket: Address already in use
IO::Socket::INET
: Address already in use


You may want to verify your setting on this service and make sure you do
not have 2 services on this server trying to run on the same address.

what did he mean by verifying the settings? Does he mean that sendmail and exim is both trying to run?
