doesn't Battefield only runs on Win32 and it's on Beta for linux?

For CS, CentOS or Debian

Im gonna have to disagree with you Francisco, from what I have seen CS runs better on Windows.

Well, I used to have a CS Server on my crappy PII 233Mhz w 128Mb of ram, lol... It ran faster (ping wize) on Linux :stickout: On windows there where some strange Pings strikes... and that was on the local network

I have noticed that bf1942 runs a bit better on win32 than linux, running the same hardware. But, that has probably been fixed since I ran tests, which was around when the game was released. (Even the win32 dedicated server ran bad)

BF linux is still beta if I remember correctly. Ran rather poorly on a FreeBSD machine I had up :(

Unless you have a high end dedicated server (ie Dual Xeon), I would recommend Fedora or Debian over any Windows OS.

CS used to run better on Linux, but STEAM was horrible the first few revisions. Although it's okay now, I understand the Windows version is still better. For Battlefield, Windows will work better -- the Linux port is a decisive runner up on their priority list.
