I hope someone can know what's up here.....got a situation I'm not sure of.
I've got 2 domains right now....both due for renewal this month. One was due TODAY! I've got them through an OpenSRS RSP, who had been SUPER to work with last year when I transferred the one from NSI and signed up the other one. Soooo......
Sent in payment recently for 3 domains....2 renewal years and was planning on 1 new domain. The RSP has NOT credited me for this yet, and so I couldn't renew the domain as I'd planned. I ended up asking a friend to foot the $15 via credit card(I don't use credit), and she got that done this morning. Now, instead of Jan 9th, the expiration date(on the RSP's site) says Jan 14th, 2003. 1 year, 5 days from now. That's not all.....
I ran a few Whois checks(NSI, Tucows, and Whois.net) and the first two STILL showed the 9th, 2002 as the expiration. Ok...fine, figured it was not updated yet. I noticed the tech info STILL had the RSP's info too....I'd left that for no particular reason these past many months.
I figured I'd better make that the SAME as my other contact info, so went back and updated that via the RSP's control panel. Thus, ALL contact info now is my name/info. Well.....re-ran the Whois checks and guess what.....
ALL showed the updated information...at least for contact info. However...the expiration date was STILL Jan. 9th, 2002(today!). Thus, I'm wondering if anyone knows if this means the expiration/renewal hasn't been updated, or if that part is done separately? Or, is there a chance the RSP charged the renewal, but didn't grant it yet?
I've written to compliance@opensrs.org but haven't heard back from them. I'm planning on transferring these domains to another RSP like SOON! But, in the meantime, I need to know what's up with this one. Anybody got any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks...
Michael
