Does anyone have any opinions on how effective the search engine submit feature of cpanel is? I know it is there, but I have some doubts over how well it actually works to submit a site to the various different search engines.

My impression is that it is simply there as an additional feature to make newbies feel they have got *even more* features with their web hosting.

Using it will not bring any harm, but dont expect many results either.
