Does anyone know where I can get a free or cheap script to run an online community like that of Ecircles ( when they existed) or Yahoo Groups? It needs to be able to create little sub-groups where users share a calendar, chatroom and possibly share files.

I am from Varsity Christian Fellowship and would like to create a place where different bible study groups can exchange messages and stuff like that. I have looked at hotscrips and resourcedindex but all they have are virtual homepage commmunities, not quite what I am looking for.

Preferably, I would like it to be in PHP/mySQL but ASP and CGI would be fine too. ( I'll just have to go learn it!)

Looking for a place to host it as well but that would be later.

Any help would be appreciated

Try hotscripts.com. I'm pretty sure they have a few community PHP scripts.

I remember seeing similar script as you described on cgi resourceindex for around $1000 or so. I forgot the brand name.

Sorry but my script isn't working for some reason!

But... I still think that I saw something on hotscripts that does what he wants. I don't remember if it was under portals, communities, or something not so obvious.
