At least with that, ANYONE can have a chance at getting a decent domain. These days its impossible, unless you have a real big wallet to jump into the pool with. sellkraft 08-27-2004, 06:15 PM I found a friend. Postmaster 08-27-2004, 06:17 PM I heard that it still wont be as easy as anyone getting a domain... Anyone care to explain the whole process if verisign was to go ahead? dmaven 08-27-2004, 06:59 PM with .net coming up for bids I do not see WLS happening taheri6 08-28-2004, 09:54 PM eNom pulled WLS from its website and is no longer offering to customers as a reliable form of registration, and instead is pushing the club drop service. Not sure if WLS will ever become reality or not. . . dmaven 08-30-2004, 01:23 AM Looking at the momentum within that space and the number of "drop only" registrars I do not think that wls will come true. I do think that the value of connections will drop FAST with so many registrars. They were making 30-40K per month, now it is more like 10, within 6 months expect 3K. Bashar 08-31-2004, 06:14 AM verisign is losing almost all big cases day by day, hopefully when they lose the .net registry many stuff will change :) Dave Zan 08-31-2004, 10:09 AM Originally posted by Bashar verisign is losing almost all big cases day by day, hopefully when they lose the .net registry many stuff will change :) Don't you just wish time will fly so fast or VeriSign will do something stupid that'll finally let them lose the .COM Registry as well? :D killian_bg 08-31-2004, 11:44 AM Bashar a lot of people are waiting for that but I can only hope the one to come won't be even worse. nameslave 08-31-2004, 12:03 PM From what I know, they (Verisign) have already filed for yet another complaint at the state level (LA Superior Court) last Friday (Aug 27). This time, the antitrust claims are dropped; looks like they are focusing on the breach of contract thingy. dmaven 08-31-2004, 12:10 PM Verisign loves litigation elliotwilliams 08-31-2004, 01:57 PM what you mean by lose? nameslave 08-31-2004, 02:11 PM Originally posted by elliotwilliams what you mean by lose? http://icann.org/legal/verisign-v-icann/verisign-v-icann-dismiss-26aug04.pdf dmaven 08-31-2004, 02:51 PM They pretty must have lost sitefinder. I think the next defeat will be WLS coming very soon |
