We normally go through godaddy.com to register, but decided to give stargate a try. We registered just fine and when it came to creating name servers it wont allow us, it comes up with:
Host could not be created.
Host IP address and name must be unique.
Also, I tried adding our current name servers and it wont allow it. Has anyone been having trouble with these guys lately? I have heard they are quite good, but this is annoying. I did submit a support request, so we will see what comes of that.

The IP may have been used before for nameservers, but from your post I'm also not sure you are doing it right, though you seem to know what you are doing and have done it before. Not sure.
Yep, I have done this many times ( especially in the past couple of days ). I origionally tried to assign the domain to our already existing name servers and they wouldn't accept it. We then decided we would rather have our own name servers for this domain and we set everything up on the server, then went to create them in the stargate CP and got that error. :bawling:

I think StarGateInc's control panel can be a little confusing at first.
Especially when you're used to GoDaddy's.
At StarGate, your exisisting nameserver information is entered under the Name Servers tab. Which would be used to point the domain to an address.
To create a name server is done under the DNS Panel tab.
I'm only going on memory. Which, at times, fails me.
May be worth a shot while you wait for StarGate to answer you.

This error is from the Nameserver Registry and it means that there is a nameserver there with that IP address already.
Use the Whois at http://www.internic.net/whois.html to see who has that IP address in the nameserver registry (assuming gTLD domains here).

Well, I tried again this morning and its working fine. Looks like they cleared up whatever issue it was that was causing it.
