Hi Guys

I have just installed the ISA firewall for the first time and i want to use it to route traffic for a win2k web server. I have no idea how to do this, anyone done this before. The firewall sits between the router and the server but i am nt sure how to configure it to route traffic for the win2k server so i can set policies for it, bit the ISA and the win2k are in the same IP range.

Thanks, i will be willing to pay someone who has good knowledge of ISA to show me the ropes

Are you using MS ISA? If so, I would suggest you run from it :) I cannot tell you how many customers we have migrated off of ISA over the last year do to it's poor documentation and problems. My I ask why you are using ISA?

Hi

Thanx for replying, i am using ISA because i want a software based firewall simply because its not hardware ristricted, by that i mean if i get a netscreen or pix, just like cobalt racks, the actual hardware specification resticts growth on your network i.e i have to keep paying out money for higher model as my sessions increase. So i have decided to buy 2 firewall suites ( Check point and ISA ) at least with these the hardware spec is in my control. This is the only real reason for my choice, its pretty much the same with my choice to use Plesk on my Unix boxes as oppossed to using cobalt ( Hardware configuration on cobalt is a rip-off )

I look forward to your views.

I understand what you mean :) but you can get a Cisco PIX or Netscreen (that can actually handle more traffic better than a box with ISA) for about the same price or less and it will be way more reliable.
