hostrequest 01-08-2002, 11:53 PM Hi I'm Bob from hostrequest.com
We just started HostRequest.com and I was looking for some feedback on what you think of our packages. All critiques are welcome.
Thank You

code_renegade 01-09-2002, 12:11 AM You've got some typos that you might want to correct...
Otherwise, I think the prices are pretty low actually! Good pricing - hope your support team can handle the flood of new customers ;)
Puzzles me - why is there no SSI for you last packages for both Unix and Windows?
hostrequest 01-09-2002, 12:21 AM Thanks avium the SSI is offered with all packages missed that one, where did you notice some typos
Thanks Again
code_renegade 01-09-2002, 12:54 AM Well, right on the entrance page you spelled 'behind' as 'behing'... Better change that one fast!
And just to play safe, you might want to run a spell-check through your contents ;)
Dave114 01-09-2002, 01:34 AM On http://www.hostrequest.com/dev/projects/unix.asp the table coloring is a bit off around the SSI section (Mini Unix specifically).

afriq 01-09-2002, 06:39 AM Do you seriously think people would supply their credit card details on an unsecure connection?

Right now as stated in the news section of our site. We are currently waiting for or cert to be implemented. In the mean time we would never allow a credit card to be submitted unles on a secure network. If you select submit on the order form you will get a validation error but you will also see we are connecting to a secure server to process the order. This is a rented secure network until ours is set up.
Thanks

dzevad 01-09-2002, 03:37 PM Compare the two:
https://www.hosting-source.net/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Feedback&file=perunix
http://www.hostrequest.com/dev/perunix.asp
Look at the end of order form on both :)
If you don't have time to go, this is what says on both sites:
This transaction is being carried out over a secure link. Please be advised that all orders are thoroughly investigated. In the event that this transaction proves to be fraudulent, be advised that Hosting-Source.com will prosecute the fullest extent of the law.
If your order is above US$ 100, you will be called by an Hosting-Source.com representative to confirm the order.

LOL:cartman: someone pick me up, I just fall of my chair....:D
porcupine 01-09-2002, 05:35 PM I don't get it, whats wrong with voice verification? It ensures that the person at least gave you a real phone number and if the order is carded, then you can at least find out his information through the police and telco. This is important for most because 1. It gets rid of a good chunk of fraud, and
2. It ensures better services for everyone else, a host won't have an easy time of keeping his head above the water if half of his accounts are carded and he keeps loosing cash to it.
dzevad 01-09-2002, 05:47 PM porcupine you'r right about voice ver.....but i'm talking about copied stuff.....
porcupine 01-09-2002, 05:49 PM ACK! my bad, totally, i hadn't looked at the two sites because you explained it below, i just skimmed and i guess missed the "two sites" part (didn't catch on to what you were saying. Sorry about that
indyjon 01-09-2002, 06:00 PM It looks like hosting-source and hostrequest are the same company...... if you click on paypal on hostrequest then you receive a paypal screen with hosting-source name on it.
hmmm...

Yes we are the same. Hosting-Source.com and HostRequest.com are owned by the same company. One site is geared towards higher amounts of space and bandwidth while the other is offering packages for more personal needs. It is referenced in our page several times, so it really shouldn't be such a shocker, but just so there is NO confusion we put it right under the logo. K

Did you notice that by this 50% discount at Hosting-Source.com (http://www.hosting-source.net/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Forum&file=viewtopic&topic=4&forum=11), the pricing of the same package at Hosting-Source.com has gone $7 lower than HostRequest.com's one ?
(did I miss something and posted this in a haste? Tell me...)
hostrequest 01-10-2002, 08:32 PM Which package are you talking about? The only one that comes close is the personal unix on Hosting-Source.com and the Mini Unix on Hostrequest.com. We will be terminating the personal unix on Hosting-source.com because it is a dog, we do not offer a domain with that package so it is not too popular. The mini Unix on HostingRequest would be replacing that one.
