Also, where are you located? Nilomedia 08-25-2004, 09:59 PM hello azns It depends on your location. To accept credit cards online, you actually need a merchant account. Well, If you're a non-US seller, you can try 2CO, they charge a low transaction fee with one-time setup but I have always had bad experience with it. Also, you can try iKobo. They support international sellers, easy-to-use. but it's one problem, It's limited to VISA card payments only (hopefully, MC will be fixed by end of this week). It's the fact that 2Checkout supports more Credit Card Types but iKobo is faster, more secure, easier (for international) and they will never deny :) That's all. If you're a US-seller, as most people do, use paypal. there are also some payment solutions that i have missed, hopefully someone will post more information on this issue. BOGinc 08-25-2004, 11:21 PM Does paypal allow you to verify orders before processing them? What I mean is do they accept the order, but the merchant has to process and then batch out? Thanks, Corey Bryant 08-25-2004, 11:38 PM I would stay away from Ikobo as your merchant processor. They might be good for small payments every so often, but do not rely on them as your provider. If you are in the U.S. or the UK you have a number of options available to you. ozex 08-25-2004, 11:53 PM you have to verify payment yourself, paypal IPN is after payment Nilomedia 08-26-2004, 01:16 AM coreybryant I use iKobo, can you tell me what are the problems you have had with them? I'm new customer so that may help you in the future with iKobo. Thanks TheGigabit-West 08-26-2004, 01:35 AM Newlook, you use ikobo is that after you get the payment from your customer and you get a card from them which can withdraw money with your local bank account merchant? Nilomedia 08-26-2004, 03:02 AM Look WebHour.net, here exactly how it works: - you set up a business (merchant account) - after your customer pays for your product, iKobo attempts to verify it, once completed money will be available - you click "withdraw" button in your control panel . you withdraw from your ikobo balance to your i-kard. it's a visa plus card used only in ATMs. They deliver this atm card to the merchant in a week or less. by going to any VISA ATM plus machine, in any bank, you can withdraw your money. Ofcourse It's onetime process. I mean, you can redeem your visa electron online, instantly.. from your ikobo balance. that's all any more questions? Corey Bryant 08-26-2004, 10:21 AM I would stay away from Ikobo. Among all the other issues & problems with their company, they cannot even keep their website up. cdgcommerce 08-26-2004, 11:13 AM We've used iKobo to send payments but never to accept them. While we have not run into any operational problems on the sending part - I can't even begin to describe how frustrating it was for us to get approved for even a modest processing increase. (We're talking from $500 to $1,000 type thing) So - I think Ikobo is fine as a means of sending money between parties if they have a pre-existing relationship. But I cringe to think of trying to get a brand new customer to sign up and make any payment of any size through them. Nilomedia 08-26-2004, 11:45 AM And what do you think about their merchant program? cdgcommerce 08-26-2004, 01:29 PM I honestly would not trust it as a means of widespread payment acceptance. I think that the folks we have paid with it got their money without any issue - but I'd not suggest using it to accept payments from new customers if you can avoid it. azns33 08-26-2004, 09:04 PM im looking for a merchant account. Im from Ca Corey Bryant 08-26-2004, 09:09 PM If Ca means Canada, and if you are a member of http://www.cfib.ca/ - they have some deals for you. Otherwise check out InternetSecure or PSIGate. If you are selling under $1,000 a month, you also might check out 2CO Now if Ca means California, you have a number of options available to you letas 10-21-2004, 11:42 AM Originally posted by Nilomedia Look WebHour.net, here exactly how it works: - you set up a business (merchant account) - after your customer pays for your product, iKobo attempts to verify it, once completed money will be available - you click "withdraw" button in your control panel . you withdraw from your ikobo balance to your i-kard. it's a visa plus card used only in ATMs. They deliver this atm card to the merchant in a week or less. by going to any VISA ATM plus machine, in any bank, you can withdraw your money. If some one can anwser i would be really grateful Thank you! multitaskerVic 10-22-2004, 04:49 PM I agree with the others, I would hate to think of people using ikobo as a business processor. As a person to person money exchange ok .. but not as someone you trust to accept payments for your business. |
