How are you paying 300 / week for moderators when you dont even have 15 posts?

The "Most users ever online was 2372 on Mon Mar 01, 2004 7:22 pm" is because this use to be a different kind of forum and i did delete all messages and users sense its a new URL for the forum now. The other one did not go well how ever was not even a English domain.

Well i advertise this forum on many place and the traffic is just started a few days ago. By the time that you have the minimum post count to apply to be a Moderator the forum will go well. In the last 2 days we have 11 members sign up already. Please see http://www.merchantaccountforums.com/memberlist.php

We own many other websites ! Some of with a big traffic.
http://downloadline.com over 50,000 pages
http://forum.downloadline.com over 40,000 pages (include archive pages)
http://www.merchantaccountforums.com new
http://phpbbclassified.com new

And many more.

I hope that answer your question.

Smart move,

He gets tons of people trying to get up to the 200 post count for free, then he can just hire one or none of them and has gotten thousands of posts in the meanwhile.

Smart guy :)

You realize by having the google Search bar in the submit page, you cannot register (on firefox, at least).

Cant register in IE either.

Get rid of the search bar if you want anyone to register. When you press submit it interprets that pressing of the submit button as 'search', not as 'submit'.

Ones you get approved to be a moderator we pay you weekly with paypal.
But hurry up we only need about 5 Moderators for now. That number could be change up or down.
Depends on the traffic and the posts.

I to would be skeptical of this offer and wouldn't do what was requested even if it meant getting paid for what I do 24/7/365

A moderator shouldn't be picked purely for posting 200 posts, they should be picked based on experience and testimonials from others.

If you'd consider me, i'd be happy to give you more details of my experience and people who'd offer testimonials that i'm trustworthy. (over 30 people)

I own my own forum and moderate several others, so if you'd be willing to accept someone based on experience and feedback, rather than spamming ability (hehe), let me know. :)

If not, good luck with your forum

You are absolutely right.
By reading your 200 posts we are able to decide if you are good
to moderate our forum.

If the forum has so many members and just moved, why not pick one of those members to moderate?

Well, no offence intended, but wouldn't it be easier to just look at people's previous posts on here to be able to tell who'd be suitable for the job and who wouldn't?

I mean this place has an ecommerce area, so you could get a good idea from there.

Truth be told, it really doesn't matter if a person makes 200 polite, helpful posts or not, it doesn't mean to say they'd be a good moderator.

Looking at my previous posts on here, you can tell I come across as friendly and whatnot, but it doesn't mean to say i'm "mod material".

Proven experience and testimonials are your best bet (if this is a legit job offering)

Again no offence intended, but it just seems to me, as it does to others, that you're getting as many people to post 200 posts as possible so you can make your site look busier
If that's not the case, then I apologise, but it just seems that way :)

It will take a lot of time to post 200 messages. I will post around 50 messages & PM you so that you can decide if I am fit for a moderator or not. Is that OK ?

Respected WHT members,

I didn't write this post to put any offense for the thread poster.
but, do you really think that someone may be a qualified moderator just for his "too many posts" or 200 posts as you say?

leave that question, what If 20 members posted 200 posts (each) will you review everyone's posts? That's like 4,000 posts.

Guys, I don't mean offense or "trashing" here. but let's make some sense. Our mind was here to think and choose right.

Actually, there's no guarantee that you'll be making money (or selected as a moderator) after posting 200 posts.

I don't ask for a guarantee for the WHT members;
I could say, it's your way to promote your new forum. but it's not a good way to attract fellow members. because I can post 1000,000 posts while I can't fit in forum moderation. maybe, it happens.

If you want to promote your forum, start by putting a little link in your signature . (yes it works).

beside, If you're willing to pay that much, you could join traffic services which are guaranteed to targeted traffic., or advertise on WHT or even some popular sites. that even will save you some money while keeping the respect of your fellow members.

Thank you, and good luck.

Well my friend, money does not come for free.
We don't want you just to come for the money.
We want you to help us build a community not just deleting messages for $300 / week.
$300 / week is a lot of money for forum moderators.
This is like contest! We need to choose the best moderators for our forums not the people who just want the money.

Oh I know that, I myself am responsible for managing 5 admins, 1 lead mod and 5 normal mods.
I'm also responsible for managing staff at other, busier boards
I do so for free, because I to believe in building the community.
I run events and weekly competitions on my own board, so I know all about community and how to build it.

But with that said and what I said before hand, I think you're going about it the wrong way.
It would've been to better to advertise that you were after mods for your board (unpaid) and stressed that their job would've been for community development, then when you found that one mod who goes out of their way to help out, then you could've offered a paid job.
I know I would've signed up to help if you'd have asked for volunteers, as I love helping the community out. (I must do if i'm in the process of setting up a charity :D )

As much as I would've loved to sign up for this paticular offer, I can't because I wouldn't want to get my hopes up and then have them dashed. (I need a job :P)
heh

$300/week is almost an unemployment insurance payments here in NY... the max you can get is $405/week...

I'm not pro with forums, but I've seen my share of them, I've seen people easily making 400 posts/day on large boards...

I believe it's a trick to have as many people to post as possible. But a very good move, I must admit ;) I should probably use something like this on my forum :)

I think that if you don't want to do this then fine, just move along, don't waste your time posting to it. People who want to do this can and will. I might take a shot at it for fun, if I don't get mod then I don't get mod.
