Your best bet IMO would be a total control from TP

navid007 08-25-2004, 12:35 AM i have the same question, but about the P4's... can't afford Dual Xeon right now :)
Help US !!
swijaya0101 08-25-2004, 12:38 AM i would prefer AN + Tomsyer ... (have 1 server at AN and 1 server at Tomsyer).
personally i dont like servermatrix due to the problem that i have with them in the past ...
OS reload ... sales promised a free month ... at the end they didnt give me the free month.
Call their support (overseas call) ... they put me on hold for more than 30 minutes ... in the end they hand up the phone ... at least it happened to me twice.

I mean SM and Theplanet is the same company rite? SM is managed while theplanet is not. Correct?

The planet is managed (infact you get free gold management with the TC) and they have better SLAs than servermatrix.
But yes they are the same company.
jerry12304 08-25-2004, 02:55 AM Never knew that TP was managed :)
lumbyjj 08-25-2004, 03:07 AM The Planet is managed in the sense that you get 1 hour of admin time per month and if you have Red Hat Enterprise or Windows, they will do automatic updates for you.
jerry12304 08-25-2004, 03:12 AM i also have my eye in 20Mbps Unmetered box over at servermatrix...its creazy how low the price tag is.
Acsiak - Andrew 08-25-2004, 03:13 AM SM is managed while theplanet is not.
It depends on how you define managed. Personally, I wouldn't called Server Matrix fully managed, but maybe semi. Real managed is more LiquidWeb or FastServers with Defcon1 or RackSpace.
ServerMatrix I'd call more semi-managed than fully managed.

I would go with ServerMatrix (or ThePlanet) personally. Lots of people have reported problems with AngelNetworkz over the last few months - do a search for 'Angel Networkz' or 'AngelNetworkz'. Problems seem to have included lack of tech support during the manager's absence, lots of complaints about poor customer service, horrendous server setup delays, lots of staff firings, unpaid CPanel licenses, a fake positive review which was deleted by the moderators, and financial problems. All of these issues were either witnessed first hand or reported by current clients. ServerMatrix has fewer complaints. We have a server with them and have found them to be always friendly, professional, and reliable.
I know i cant belive that angelnetworkz have problems now! I was here 2 months ago and there rep here was really good. people seem to love them. Im not sure what happen.
navid007 08-25-2004, 03:33 AM Donna since you are probably around..reading the replys...can you tell me if you guys can sell bulk bandwidth... like 500G more...
i want to get 2 of your california servers...but they all have only 1000G :D ... and extra bandwidth is 50c...
i've read lots of good things about your company... except last few weeks... i just need more bandwidth :D
The Broadband Man 08-25-2004, 03:34 AM Can someone clear this up for me - does she use her own hardware and tech or managed.com hardware and her own tech or just managed.com for all?

Well when it comes to the managed.com DC, we've come to the conclusion that they don't have any onsite techs of their own. They're based in Canada and seem to use managed.com techs for work that can't be done remotely.
navid007 08-25-2004, 06:57 AM what happened !!
they deleted Donna's messages
what an Anti-Angelz forum :D !
so who's gonna answer my question noww:bawling:
vmircea 08-25-2004, 07:37 AM I would say go with either TP or SM, I've been with them and whenever I had problems they helped me out pretty quickly, and the servers are good too, I would strongly recommend them :)

I have 3 servers with them, all working great. Just last week one of my servers crashed, in the event log a memory failure was the cause… Reported this to SM, they checked and confirmed. 3hrs later the memory was replaced…
serverunion 08-25-2004, 10:40 AM saw this in the offers section...
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=312387
special also works at TP
not an add, have no affiliation with SM...
