hello,

I checked my email and here's.. hmm "7 warning points for violating the forum rules" by replying in a thread.. " PM sent.. or something " :)

I didn't know that I'm violating the rules in this way.
I just want to know how these points are negative to my account? and how to remove them?

thank you very much
:)

Please read the rules page >> http://www.webhostingtalk.com/misc.php?s=&action=forum-rules

The notice you received would have told you which rule you violated.

Warning points are cumulative, and once you reach a certain point can result in the termination of your account. However, they drop off after a certain period of time. In this case 60 days.

If you still have further questions, use the help desk >> http://www.webhostingtalk.com/helpdesk/

Thank you.

Here's the specific rule (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/misc.php?s=&action=forum-rules) that you broke -
Members may not post to instruct users to check their e-mail, check their PM, or inform them that they've got mail or a new PM, or any variant thereof.
Don't sweat it. Just don't do that again. :)

Glad to help Newlook.

Since you are focused on the rules at the moment ;), (after you review the main rules page) also take notice of the notes/guidelines that are specific to a section of the forum (the Advertising areas for example). These are posted in the 'description' of that section, and contain some things that are not on the main rules page. In addition, you should watch for any 'announcement' threads that will be at the top of any particular forum area.

Not to overload you, but just to better prepare you for a happy (non penalized) experience.

Glad to have you join us sir! :)
