I run OcPrices.com, a hardware news and review site with a retailers directory and price comparisons for computer hardware. I plan to split the site into two: one dedicated price comparison site, and one dedicated hardware news and reviews site.

For that I need some help with design of the two sites and coding for (at least) the price comparison site.

Specifications:
- Be able to read prices from product text files retailers provide (Comma Separated Values) in predefined format
- Be able to compare prices based on some base currency (and maybe let users choose their own language!) as I have retailers from 10+ countries.
- Track all clicks on products, retailers, descriptions etc and make a GUI for it - for admin and for the site!
- Remind retailers to update their prices if more than x days old (send an email)
- Make admin interface where I can add products to match the ones we read from the retailers. Most products that the retailers sell are the same!
- You should be able to sort on price, product name, description etc
- It should be possible to decide that a specific retailer should show up at the top each time (as a pay option!)
- Make it so that I can add an image to the retailers name to add more attention to it (pay option)
- Have overview presentation of prices with the lowest price mentioned - for
each category (like this:
http://www.ocprices.com/index.php?command=search_pricelist&Search_RetailerID
=any&Search_ProductID=any&Search_ManufacturerID=any&Search_CategoryID=49&Sea
rch_ManufacturerID=any&Search_RetailerCountryID=any&Search_PriceIndication=a
ny&Search_ManufacturerID=any) for instance)
- Be able to search products after: retailer, country, category, price and free text
- Be able to show information about retailers (contact info, credit card, shipping charges, where they ship etc)
- Show stock levels on products (it's in the text file, so it is trivial!)
- Maybe have a direct BUY button which automatically places that particular product in the retailers shopping basket (as a pay option!). Like this site:
http://www.computerprices.co.uk/hardware/pricemagnifier.asp?productid=20015
(click BUY)
- Be able to rate the retailers, like ResellerRatings.com or Pricegrabber.com.

Nothing is set in stone, but these are the main features I can think of now. My current pricelist is here: http://www.ocprices.com/index.php?GroupID=9&command=pricelist. I basically want something similar, just much better :)... Features etc should be similar to the below...

For ideas I have looked at these similar sites:
- http://www.computerprices.co.uk

Basically I want a price comparison engine for overclocking and case modding equipment. Other type of products should of course be able to add later!

Please email me with your quote ? Income for the site is relatively little, so I'd prefer to have a price for the entire project. I am interesting in receiving quotes for design and scripting as separate projects as well.

I will base my decision on price and quality. Please include links to former work.

for something like that you are looking at a big cost for that type of project. I can give you a quote but if your looking for something budget, don't ask for one from me. I do professional work only and my prices show it.

but it sounds like this project could run to a hefty price. This doesn't seem like childs play coding to me :)

E-lance can be a waste of time because it's saturated with freelancers..

For a project like this, you're better off getting a firm to develop it for you. Then again it depends on how much you value your site.

Personally for something like this i'd want to have a full software development lifecycle which sometimes is looked over by freelancers.

If you place the project at prosavvy.com, i'll be sure to give you
very competitive rates and a total price way within your budget.
