Hi,

I'm looking for a solution (can be paid - not too pricy though) to set up an online radio station (or maybe more of them) which streams mp3's (or a similar format) stored on a server running RHEL.

To make myself clear ; I don't want to stream mp3's from my own pc to a shoutcast server, but want to the linux server to randomly stream mp3's itself. Apart from that, it would be great if a jingle/commercial/etc. can be played after every 3-4 songs.

Anyone know of such a solution ?

Thanks ! :gthumb:

icecast will do this, alternately, mod_mp3 will also. Please be aware that you must pay licensing fees if you're planning on playing copyrighted material.

If you prefer to run Shoutcast servers from your box, we can have this done for you. +1 for the licensing fees and you must upload your mp3/jingles yourself to the server. I can be contacted via PM.

PS: after writing i remember seeing an HOWTO for this on the technical howto's section, be sure to check there also.
