Hi!

Anyone working for Ezzi (or a customer) online that could answer these questions:

* When using Windows Server 2003 (standard edition), will I be able to use terminal services to remote control/setup my server?
* Will I be able to install - for example - mySQL, frontpage server extensions and php without have a ezzi-tech. guy charging 75USD/h?
* If there a server where I could test performance - both upstream and downstream - like a download/upload script?

Asking for the last questions since I need to verify the usability of my ISP towards a server since I'm not from US (kinda bad finding out that I've a 10K/s upstream towards ezzi.net :D)

That's about all for now.
Not paying 150USD/month without testing first :D

ps
I've tried searching, but my Boolean sux ;)

There are some people using Ezzi I just don't know about using windows with Ezzi (I don't and never have used Ezzi myself).

Good Luck

Although they have been making some changes to their network since I was with them, my customers from Europe always seemed to like the connection speeds to Ezzi. I'm not sure where you a from, but perhaps that will help. Customer service was fair, hardware seemed good, network went from very bad to quite good during the time I was there, and i hear they are still pretty solid as they seem to have worked out the power problems they were having with their datacenter. I only had linux boxes there, however, so i can't say how their windows support is.

Having remote desktop is just a matter of enabling the option in Windows 2003, and i'm sure Ezzi would set that up for you if it isn't set that way by default (i'm sure it is however). you should be able to install any software you want from the remote desktop interface without any help from an Ezzi tech, as long as you know what you are doing.

I'm afraid you are on your own for a speed test to Ezzi, but if you email their sales dept i'm sure they would be able to tell you if they have something where you could test download speeds. Another option would be to look for an Ezzi reseller and see if they have a test file.

Hope my comments are helpful to you.
