Hi, I use 2checkout and have now been setting it up for a friend too.

Everything is identicle except prices etc obviously. Now some reason it shows as still in demo mode when i have disabled it. Any ideas? I have contacted 2checkout twice but haven't had a reply (the second email was 2 minutes ago)

Also we notice 2checkouts site is fast but ordering is too slow and seem to timeout at the moment. Anyone else notice it?

2checkout's control panel is little confusing and there are seperate demo modes for seperate areas (ie shopping cart, recurring billing and products page) make sure you are removing demo operation from each one of them.

Yes ordering does seem slow but I havent seen timeouts recently.

I signed up with them yesterday, and today there were a lot of problems. I emailed them and got this responce:

hi,

We are suffering from 2 problems right now. Our host (interland) is having
problems with the server our Admin pages are hosted on. That is why your
pages are working intermittently.
Also (if that weren't enough)
We have been informed that the linkpt gateway is down for the next 2 hours.
"Scheduled Maintenance"
This is beyond our control.
What we are doing is recording all buyer email addresses, and will notify
them when the gateway is back online.

Tom

So that sounds okay...

one thing that scares me...
i was just look at the source of a page on 2checkout.com and i saw this:

<meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 5.0">
<meta name="ProgId" content="FrontPage.Editor.Document">

:bawling: :eek:
that kinda scares me man...:(

I have been with 2checkout for a couple of months. I can honestly say they are a very good compnny. You have nothing to worry about.

Though these recent problems are a little dishearting. I has a very important client who is trying to signup and these problems may lose us a customer. :eek:

Uggggggg Laughing Cow.

We have no control over the linkpt gateway and it is flustrating to have them go offline for "Scheduled Maintenance" (with no notification beforehand) on Sunday AFTERNOONS, 2 months in a row. Especially when that "1-2 hour" time frame more than doubled.

I understand Tom, I know these things happen. A similar thing puts hosts in an awkward situation when there provider goes down. It's something you can't really help. :)
