A virtual dedicated server gives you a dedicated server at a lower price because more than one virtual dedicated server run on the same dedicated server box. So you get your own copy of Apache, your own copy of Sendmail, your own copy of MySql, your own everything, and you even have root access to your virtual dedicated server. Your virtual dedicated server is assigned a dedicated ip address and we even give you your own name servers to use with it, masking us entirely! A normal hosting package would not give you root access to the server, would not give you your own copy of Apache, MySql, Sendmail, etc.., may give you your own dedicated IP address, and may give you your own nameservers.

Virtual deds using the freevsd system are very stable and are very nippy.

Weve not had any stability problems with them, and www.dsvr.co.uk (who also use freevsd) have been going for 4+ years using freevsd machines and they never have any stablility problems with them. We actually have an account at Dsvr, but they are very expensive (its because they have their servers in the UK - as usual).

4. Do you have any uptime guarantee?

We dont guarantee uptime, we dont see how really hosts can but wed say at least 99.5% uptime, if not more. Our existing hosting customers on other servers have experienced 99.9% uptime (touch wood), te server has gone down for 20 minutes in the last 4 months and this was due to a human error on part of one of our support staff.

Its an introductary offer, we have just purchased another dedicated which wont be online till next week or so, hence the not taking signups till 1st feb. Weve offered FreeVSD hosting before to private customers, and have decided to go and offer it public. Anybody that signsup before the 10th of Feb 2002 will get it at this price for life, after which we will increase the prices back to a "sane" rate!

The server is a dual-athlon 900 with 1024mb RAM, wed allocate a maximum of 10 accounts to the server.
