I hope this is the correct place to ask this, if not please direct me!
I need some ads to cover the climbing cost of running my site, I got about 760,000 page views and 12GB last month, not so nice on the wallet....
Any good places that offer CPM ads (or mix CPC and CPM)? (NO popups, ughh) I have signed up for Burst! Media, Fastclick, and Tribal Fusion and none would take me and I think I know why:
My site is called xboxhacker.net, we focus on learning about the Xbox's hardware and ways to modify (so hack = modify) but I think the networks see "hacker" and reject me like a hot potatoe. The site is completely legit. Anyway, I need to make some money to cover costs and commission affiliates and pure click-based ads aren't going to cut....thanks for any help!

Usually this would go into the Related Offers and Request (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=27) forum, I think, but it probably doesn't matter. (I'm sure the moderators will move it if they deem it necessary.)
With the sort of traffic you're getting, I'd be surprised if you don't have a number of sponsorship offers from hosts in this forum pretty soon. 12GB of traffic isn't going to cost most hosts very much, and a simple "this site hosted by" link would probably drive enough traffic for it to be worthwhile for them.

Gaming and teenage websites have been doing very poorly since the dot com problems that surfaced in late 2000. Try and join with Affiliate programs... You should make more then enough to cover 12 gigs of bandwidth that way.
Also here are some companies that manage affiliate programs:
Cj.com
Leadcrunch.com
FineClicks.com

It's not really a gaming/teenage website. The majority of visitors are over 18 I'd say, it's more technically oriented. But yes, all tech-type sites or game sites are doing poorly in the way of ads.

Well, leadcrunch has a free x-box contest offer... It's only 15 cents per lead but if 1 % of your visitors sign-up then it should be plenty to pay for hosting.
With 12 gigs of bandwidth you should be able to host for under $25 dollars easily.

with your market
i would go with adult
cyberotica ads
as this would be the best way to make $$$
jim runs a nice program and there payouts are great
1.00 per sign up and with abut that many a month u should easily get about 150+ sign ups a month.
If not try going with cj running a liveware add
those are for cellphones
and have made me a bit** not a whole lot but a little ad revenue

I'm not sure it would help ( I as well believe most sites are having a hard time getting accepted by ad networks these days ) , but it could be worth to get an extra domain name ( xboxsomethingelse.net ) and redirect the xboxhacker.net traffic to it. You could now try applying again.

I tried with my siliconice.net domain :-) still rejected....they say games/computer sites aren't doing well now for their ads. :-(

Try Microsoft :D
or that group which sells hacking CD software. I remembered they pay well with commissions (and your audience might like it)

Hi,
I highly recommend www.clickbank.com affiliate program. They have more than a thousand small merchants under them and some good software/programs that pays commissions as high as 50% Their payment is very prompt and you can login to your account to check your sales and commissions earned.
www.cj.com (Commission Junction) also has quite a number of merchants listed with them and some of the programs are quite easy to sell.
www.linkshare.com also has some good merchants dealing in computer software/hardware where if you do it well, you can earned good money. But their payment is very slow.

I am a Clickbank merchant and I would be delighted to have you as an affiliate.
I sell an online guide for $19.95 and pay 50% commission.
The guide shows where and how to buy inkjet cartridges direct from manufacturers for as little as $1.10.
If you're interested, please feel free to contact me personally.

i will have to disagree with that we run a gaming network off our parent company and with 5 different sites we average over 7,000,000 hits a month and about 120 gigs of transfer
finding a way to make money is a whole nother story tho
xboxhacker would u ever put adult ads on your site ?
that is a guaranteed money maker right there but there are moral issues with it. we had a site with adult ads for about 3 montsh and recieved 150+ a month in ad revenue
