IRCCo Jeff 08-19-2004, 10:23 PM Servermatrix, without a doubt. mlingo 08-19-2004, 10:25 PM If servermatrix and the planet are the same why not go with the palnet any ideas? IRCCo Jeff 08-19-2004, 10:29 PM I don't think it particularly matters, they're just two diffrent marketing images. It shouldn't affect your overall experience. UR-Kevin 08-19-2004, 10:37 PM Yes, go for Server Matrix wheimeng 08-19-2004, 10:38 PM I would go with Servermatrix then given the 2 choices. mlingo 08-19-2004, 10:45 PM whats the difference from Red Hat 9 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Version 3? I am filling out my server specs at servermatrix. RyanD 08-19-2004, 10:56 PM Use Sago, and do not use redhat 9 RyanD 08-19-2004, 10:58 PM btw if your aren't an experienced unix admin (which you don't appear to be) you might want to consider going with a company that offers managment services :) mlingo 08-19-2004, 10:58 PM Ryan you have been herefor me all day you are the man. I am now doing live chat with someone from rackspace what do you think of them? RyanD 08-19-2004, 11:02 PM Rackspace is a great outfit, but they are extremely pricey but they sure are "fanatical" about their support :) If you wanted to hear any more of my opinions check out my contact info in my profile, I'm on aim and yahoo right now :) mlingo 08-19-2004, 11:04 PM I am such a newbie at this that I think I and my business will be better off with rackspace. Thanks for the help:D RyanD 08-19-2004, 11:07 PM If you have the money to spend you can't go wrong with rackspace :) Good choice mlingo 08-19-2004, 11:10 PM The countdown is final thanks to wiresix. I am going with rackspace. Thanks everyone. I love this forum good stuff. mlingo 08-19-2004, 11:12 PM I just noticed this forum is hosted by rackspace Haddy 08-20-2004, 01:16 AM Originally posted by mlingo I just noticed this forum is hosted by rackspace Most if not all of iNet is... Talk your rackspace rep, theyll throw in an extra 50GB trasnfer most of the time...If you ask nicely that is :p And just fyi servermatrix and theplanet are not the same. They are the same company (TP is the parent company) and they are hosted in the same datacenter(s) with the same ammount of connectivity but thats where it ends...TP uses dell or rlx systems, SM uses whitebox systems *correct me if im wrong on that*...The internal networks use different hardware...Support and billing are 2 different depts... |
