so...after lurking here for about half of year. i finally want to add webhosting onto my biz. against jake (6ps) advice i went with Helm. i just order a server with servermatrix yesterday. the default install set ftp and dns to Serv-U and Simple DNS which Do Not come with Helm! now i have to spend money to buy those tow apps since i can't get rid of defualt setting. i try to del them but Helm won't let me del them. i can't set MS DNS and FTP to work since the default setting is not letting me do that.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....this is getting me!!!! and i'm not usually the kind of guy who get piss off at thing.

i'm gonig to switch to Plesk 7 if i can't get this to work since servermatrix want to charge me $75 to get rid of defualt setting.

Can anyone with Helm experenice help this poor soul out? Can you please tell me how to get rid of default setting DNS and FTP and make Helm to work with MS DNS and FTP.

if you do whenever you come to Houston, TX just email me and i'll buy you a beer!!!!

thank

just check with Helm the default setting (Serv-U and Simple DNS) was setup by ServerMatrix. now i can't get rid of them because Helm think both service are installed. it's SM fcukup. now i have to convice them to either reinstall and don't set anything or let me install Helm.

this is a bad day for me. :bawling:

Have you tried http://forums.webhostautomation.com/ . The developers of Helm may be better equipped to help you resolve your Helm issue. It is their software anyways.

You can just start over with a new HelmDB.

Or download Helm and re-install (Just take a note of your licence key in the Helm Config Tool before re-installing).

Also make sure to uninstall MSDE when you uninstall the current versio of Helm.

I also believe ServerMAtrix have mistakenly shipped some servers with the BETA verion of Helm 3.1.18 rather than the latest stable version.
