Greetings fusionx1:

Before you flame some one, please keep in mind that WHT is international; and English is not everyone's first language.

DLC2000, it would help if you explain the circumstances of why you need to change the IP, and how the current IP is currently being used (i.e. what services are associated with the IP)?

What's your goal of changing the IP?

More details, please.

Thank you.

First, are you running a control panel? If so, head over to the support for your CP.

If not, then you need to post the information on all of the server, OS, and who controls the DNS for the domains, etc. BUT, this is probably going to get too involved to do cleanly in forum posts and you should look for a professional to consult and help with the migration.

If you don't know how to do it yourself, you would probably be better off finding someone that does and paying them. If something unexpected happens in the middle, you need someone with experience to take care of it right then, not wait and hope for someone to post in a forum.

Yes you'll cause a problem, they'll have about 6-8 hours of downtime.

umm this is strange i only will add the new main ip on the server and after 2-3 days i will remove the old one... why this should make downtime?

Changing the main IP should not cause downtime. I have done this a number of times on live servers with zero downtime to any service or account/website.

1. What operating system are you using?
2. Is the server's main IP only serving as the main IP or is it also in use in dns zones, apache config (shared httpd IP), etc?
