Hi

Is there anyway to repair the corrupted mail stored files, instead of recreating it? This has suddenly became an issue especially for clients who stored large amount of emails. All cpanel support can say is that it is corrupted. But we seem to see this issue quite often and believes it may be something with Cpanel systems that's causing the issues.

In any case, that aside, I need help to know if there's anyway to repair the folders instead of moving it to another location and recreating an empty file. I know that works. But for clients with hundreds of stored emails, it's not going to be a solution.

Thanks.

You probably already tried it but have you tried the mailbox rebuild tool in WHM? This might help you but I can't be sure.

Do you mean the "Rebuild/Fix Mail Dbs/Boxes" function? That does nothing but fix the permissions as far as I know. It's the "/scripts/mailperm" script.

(and yes, I run that before)

Ok that's what I was referring to. Do you use anything like MailScanner at all? What version of Exim are you using?

Yes. Using Mailscanner, and Exim 4.x. Not sure how that helps me repair the mailboxes though...

I'm trying to figure out the source of the corruption. What's the point of fixing it if it keeps happening :)

It would be nice to fix the source and the mailboxes.

Ya. I know. That's what I told Cpanel. They didn't get back to me yet on that.
