PhotonVPS-Jim 08-17-2004, 03:48 AM boxhosts, since your new to the forum I suggest you using http://www.webhostingtalk.com/request.php Fill out the field you require and other hosts will contact you regarding their offers. Some will even give you a trial if you ask ;) Website Rob 08-17-2004, 05:26 AM Shouldn't be too hard to find what you want. I'd also suggest Hosts that provide Auto Installer by cpSkins, which is pretty much the same as Fantastico. InSite 08-17-2004, 05:52 AM Originally posted by Website Rob I'd also suggest Hosts that provide Auto Installer by cpSkins, which is pretty much the same as Fantastico. I'm going to take a wild guess here, that you offer Auto Installer, and not Fantastico?! Just a little hunch I have ;) CPW-Carl 08-17-2004, 06:53 AM Check out www.SRLNet.com we've used them for over a year and are quite happy. Just a little hunch I have ;) We have a Winner! :D I have noticed though, lots of people are not aware that the two are almost identical. The front-end for installing the scripts is different, but both provide almost exactly the same scripts and both are one-click install, two-click uninstall. Plexi_Hosting 08-17-2004, 08:42 AM Last I saw (actually login to a host using Auto Installer and not Fantastico, also checking around on host's sites), Auto Installer didn't have the critical security update of OSTicket from 1.2.5 to 1.2.7 but Fantastico did. Granted, technical people can do updates like this manually but how about the average shared hosting client? Do they update scripts less often, or is this just a one-time discrepancy? Or, am I just wrong and it has been updated in the past few days? Let's get back to the main topic: I need and hope that you guys could give me some recommendation of good host? 3 or more gb of space, 22 us dollars +-. How much bandwidth do you need? boxhosts 08-17-2004, 12:12 PM i pay today in equivity , but in not satisfect with the downtimes and speed of server. Your Package: EQ3 Total Quota: 6500 Total Bandwidth: 80000 Accounts Included: Not limited by number of resold accounts. 22.95 dollars. the support is great, and the outages are very fast, but constantily. why the equivity is located in diferent datacenter of you clients ? Protagonist 08-18-2004, 12:27 AM You might also want to have private nameservers. Sometimes it's part of the package . Other hosts will charge you extra for a dedicated IP. Alperen 08-18-2004, 02:16 AM You must ask for these before buying a reseller plan ; 0. Of course SUPPORT 1. Dedicated IP 2. Private nameservers 3. Backup 4. Unlimited Domains 5. Update to other reseller plan- Free? 6. Modern Billing (optional) 7. Paypal (optional) 8. No change in price (optional) * Most of the reseller plans have same features but they make the difference with data center quality/ server properties and the list above. Thanks, Alperen KGLim 08-18-2004, 03:43 AM You will get a lot of choice at http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=4 Alperen 08-18-2004, 06:22 AM i know there. i just want to remind and list some important features you have to ask for biTe 08-19-2004, 10:35 PM don't mean to sound negative but hostquote didn't work too well for me... got very few responses and even then only from uk and germany.. I asked for reseller plans range between $25 - $35 if i remember correctly - 8-10gb/1000gg space/bandwidth - Linux with CPanel + RVskin - Jailed SSH access - PHP suEXEC and suEXEC enabled - FTP, email, and the other common features I forgot to mention that I wanted DC only at US West coast.. but even then.. its after 48 hours and not very good responses so far... Maybe I asked for too much :-(( Raptors 08-19-2004, 10:38 PM http://www.rvskin.com/index.php?page=public/host_offer_rvskin InSite 08-19-2004, 10:40 PM biTe - what scares me is that you got any offers at all - who offered you a plan that large and at that price? :o biTe 08-19-2004, 10:45 PM removed.. wrong quote biTe 08-19-2004, 10:48 PM Originally posted by InSite biTe - what scares me is that you got any offers at all - who offered you a plan that large and at that price? :o LOL.. u right.. it should be 100gb bandwidth.. sorry for the typo here.. I had it right in my host quote though Website Rob 08-20-2004, 12:18 AM Originally posted by biTe I asked for reseller plans range between $25 - $35 if i remember correctly - 8-10gb/1000gg space/bandwidth I do believe this is why you got little response. A good Hoster cannot provide what you ask for and still provide good Service & Support. Dacsoft 08-21-2004, 08:15 PM Originally posted by phoebs What's the difference btn auto-installer and fantastico? I actually offer both and don't see much different. They have a lot of similar scripts, but are not all the same. Experienced customers want the Fantastico because it is well known. But my customers who are new to hosting say they like the Auto-installer better. The interface seems a little bit simpler. |
