One big plus in this company's favor, they're local (well 30 miles) from me. No shipping servers with UPS, pronounced OOPS (oh god the nightmares) and I could actually go touch my servers (and stroke them and tuck them in at night :D).

With more than 5U rental they also supply you with a KVM/Monitor/KB/Mouse ($100 one time fee for the cables)

$250 setup fee
$20 per U
$33 per 64K dedicated bandwidth (non burstable)
$499 per 1M dedicated bandwidth (non burstable)

This seems a little on the expensive side to me however I've been spoiled by Rackshack's pricing (not by their network uptime though lately).

Anyone know of ANY Colo's near N Alabama (even Nashville, TN!) that could offer a better deal?

If thats a bgp routed network with a good provider thats reasonable but you should know you shouldnt ever have to pay a setup fee you can almost always get it waived, most places dont even charge setup fees anymore.

Well they've been a large local (regional I suppose would be the word now) ISP since the early internet days (91/92 I guess).

They have 2 T-3's that's all I know about their bandwidth.

Too far to drive, it's nearly 4 hours to Atlanta, too far to be really any more desirable than say, a california host.

If you don't mind me asking, but what is their site?

but the pricing for most early providers is. Colocation at a tier one is even cheaper than that, and tier ones tend to be expensive :)

I'm not sure where you're from but where I live to Miami is roughly 1000 miles I guess I could Yahoo Maps it and find out for sure (Huntsville, AL to Miami, FL if anyone's that bored hehe).

I'd just colo with Verio probably since they're talking $250 per Mbit in the offers forums.
