Can some one tell me on how to register a new nameserver for a new site domain name using Opensrs. I have asked them 3-4 days ago and still no reply back.

I have logged into the domain account and went to create no nameservers and then entered.

SERVER HOSTNAME: ns1.domain_name.net
SERVER IP: 10.10.10.0

And I get this error:

Unable to create nameserver: Registry error, nameserver creation failed [Attribute value not unique]

Anybody who uses OpenSRS have a idea here why I am getting this error.

The server never had any nameservers before if that would help.
I guess you would say I am trying to create a new host account, I no how on the Network Solutions to do that, but not on OpenSRS.

Need a little help here please.

The error message [Attribute value not unique] is generated by the root registry and means that the IP address you are attempting to associate with your new nameserver is already in use by another registered nameserver in their database.

You can try using a different IP address, or if you can free up the IP address you want do it that way. Or wait until the root registry removes the unique IP requirement for nameservers. (rumour has it that the requirement will be removed later this month)
