Lonny 01-04-2002, 08:26 AM Well, the ads will not be userfriendly, so that makes it a different site... davidb 01-04-2002, 08:47 AM I personally wouldnt put up the ads, if they are pornagraphic, its one thing to advertise a clean ad, when possible kids will see it, then a dirty one. Lonny 01-04-2002, 08:49 AM hmm, yea that what i was thinking, or I could put a disclamer before the entrance to the showcase... mahinder 01-04-2002, 09:21 AM why not there is already one at http://adult.tophosts.com/ the only thing there should not be any porn links or images in ads!! ;) Walter 01-04-2002, 10:19 AM Originally posted by Lonny the ads will not be userfriendly, so that makes it a different site... This should not happen with a good design. Of course on the main page of your directory there should be no pics and so on. But maybe it's even better to cobrand and make a new directory dedicated to this topic with ads for it running in your main directory. bobcares 01-04-2002, 10:22 AM We had developed a site for a client a long time back. It was an adult webmaster resources site. Please note that we did nothing with the content. We only did the programming and the database work.... :) http://rawonline.com Have a great day :) regards amar mahinder 01-04-2002, 10:34 AM Originally posted by bobcares We had developed a site for a client a long time back. I mean, can you imagine going to www.yourhost.com and finding a link to www.********** there? Edit: Wow didn't know goat-se* was THAT famous!!! Chicken you've been naughty. alpha 01-04-2002, 09:45 PM Originally posted by Skeptical Edit: Wow didn't know goat-se* was THAT famous!!! It's called shock therapy my friend. Scott 01-05-2002, 05:06 AM I don't think a web hosting directory should exclude the "adult" market, it's too big and lucrative. If you are concerned about insulting/offending or giving access to minors then put up some sort of disclamer with age varification click through to warn and protect yourself. :pimp: jimb 01-05-2002, 05:17 PM Or, you could do like hostsearch does and include it in the normal searches, and all you have to do is click a checkbox if you want only adult hosts. That way, its part of your main site, but if a person doesnt want a host that offers adult, they dont have to view them. Jim Lonny 01-06-2002, 01:42 AM We already have that :) Blub 01-06-2002, 07:05 PM There is one here also www.adultxbank.com claims to the biggest. Dmoz mixes such adult and reqular BUT the adult sections are not available via the category list. So, if they can do it... |
