I visited managed.com and they seem like great servers at good prices. But i have heard some bad things about them. Can someone please tell me if they have had any good or bad experiences with managed.com.

Dont get close to MANAGED.COM ,There is simply no support there ,my friend customer of managed.com and wait 3 days to get answer and 4 days to get answer that "we sorry but this issue is out of our possiblity"

other my friend got his server with managed.com rebooted few times without any reason ,looks like mistake of there techs.
and on the first week , got IP assigned to another customer for 48 hours,till it got fixed....which blocked access to the server for 48 hours.

http://www.Rocketcolo.com - Great network ,fast setup (takes few hours) ,SuperB support(Managed).

http://www.SaGonet.com - good network , Great support (but support cost money 50$ per hour)

Do NOT go with managed.com
They got a very slow network.
I am moving away from them this month.

yes, they are not up to their mark.

they have a very bad service. I recommand you to.

I've had a server with them before. Their servers are great when they are up, I had a few (2 months?) when my server was up 100%. Yet their unstable network and non existent support is why you should stay away from them. There were months where their network would be down and my server along with it. I would submit a support ticket and wait for many hours. Usually the reply to my ticket would be a ping report with the phrase:

"The server is working fine."

Support usually replies many hours after the server is down. But yes, their prices are outrageously cheap. If you're looking for a really cheap server provider, you can give them a shot. Just don't expect alot out of it :) Good luck!

They can probably be good if you only have a small hobby site, but not if you have much traffic and want to make the most money, alot of surfers will not wait for a slow webpage to load.

Seriously though, why don't you just pay a few extra bucks and go with a more reputable server company.

Sagonet does not charge $50/hour for support.

We have found managed.com 9 months ago. Then we've decided to switched all of our dedicated servers to theirs.

Yes, lower the cost, increase in profit, but guess what? Downtime, downtime, and more downtime.. We lost thousands due to this issue. Then we decided to switch all servers back to where we were.

strangely or lucky enough, for the 8 months that i've been with them there was only two incidents of 20 minutes where their network is harder to reach, apart from that there has been no problems with them for me.
In fact, i'm about to upgrade my server from them. Not so hard, because of their low prices.

You obviously did not monitor your server. How could you possibly miss every single downtime that they had? Granted they are getting better, but going 8 months back, things were hell. I had a server there in June and I saw more than 40 minutes of 500+ms pings and 80% packetloss, not to mention the downtime from anytime they attempted to add a provider or change BGP before July...

Been 5 Months with managed.com no problems great server, but I too sometimes get frightened reading some of the stories posted here.

If you plan to go with managed.com it’s a good idea to pay via paypal and be sure to do backup atleast every 3-4 days, if you dont need support and can manage the server yourself they are good.........

With a site that constantly has 200+ users online wherein a dozen international crew that reports to me in case of emergency, a MRTG-check for webhits, usersonline, traffic every MINUTE and not having a single drop that i'm not the cause offor the months that it has been up I can say it's up there.

Who knows maybe your servers are on a faulty switch.

But blindly assuming things...

Actually, it was their faulty core router. But of course, when the core router goes down, your server stays online... :rolleyes: Makes lots of sense to me. Let's see here:

Support is really **** during the overnight hours, but here is a hint, send your support problems to reboot@managed.com and they respond fairly quickly :P

I know from experience that Sago does not charge you every time you need something. Only for major things (and sometimes not even for those). I Was concerned about that when I started, but the only time I have been charged was for a reinstall ($100 flat fee). I've been with Sago for 8 months now.

I've been with them for 4 months. Haven't experienced any down time. I can't comment about the support since I've never used it.

support is really slow, but the network has seemed good for the past few months, i know a router at above.net was having problems. but thats it
