Can someone please tell me if they have had any good or bad experiences with managed.com. xpserv.com 08-14-2004, 04:39 AM Dont get close to MANAGED.COM ,There is simply no support there ,my friend customer of managed.com and wait 3 days to get answer and 4 days to get answer that "we sorry but this issue is out of our possiblity" other my friend got his server with managed.com rebooted few times without any reason ,looks like mistake of there techs. and on the first week , got IP assigned to another customer for 48 hours, till it got fixed....which blocked access to the server for 48 hours. xpserv.com 08-14-2004, 04:44 AM today there is small list of companies which i really trust: http://www.Theplanet.com - Great network ,great support service http://www.Rocketcolo.com - Great network ,fast setup (takes few hours) ,SuperB support(Managed). http://www.SaGonet.com - good network , Great support (but support cost money 50$ per hour) [Axelsson] 08-14-2004, 07:16 AM Do NOT go with managed.com They got a very slow network. I am moving away from them this month. BizB 08-14-2004, 09:17 AM just search the form overulehost 08-14-2004, 11:13 AM weird, stuff people actually posting bad stuff about them well i read many review saying they are good whtgoogle 08-14-2004, 11:37 AM yes, they are not up to their mark. they have a very bad service. I recommand you to. http://www.ispcheck.com for searching for servers . or choose http://www.ev1servers.com. yea722 08-14-2004, 11:39 AM I've had a server with them before. Their servers are great when they are up, I had a few (2 months?) when my server was up 100%. Yet their unstable network and non existent support is why you should stay away from them. There were months where their network would be down and my server along with it. I would submit a support ticket and wait for many hours. Usually the reply to my ticket would be a ping report with the phrase: "The server is working fine." Support usually replies many hours after the server is down. But yes, their prices are outrageously cheap. If you're looking for a really cheap server provider, you can give them a shot. Just don't expect alot out of it :) Good luck! Trix 08-14-2004, 06:09 PM me personally, i have had a very good experiense with managed! shame i dont have a server there anymore >_> [Axelsson] 08-14-2004, 06:31 PM They can probably be good if you only have a small hobby site, but not if you have much traffic and want to make the most money, alot of surfers will not wait for a slow webpage to load. RossH 08-14-2004, 06:56 PM So many managed.com threads....I think I'm gonna puke :puke: Seriously though, why don't you just pay a few extra bucks and go with a more reputable server company. VN-Ken 08-14-2004, 06:58 PM Sagonet does not charge $50/hour for support. Then we've decided to switched all of our dedicated servers to theirs. Yes, lower the cost, increase in profit, but guess what? Downtime, downtime, and more downtime.. We lost thousands due to this issue. Then we decided to switch all servers back to where we were. athlonkmf 08-15-2004, 10:03 AM strangely or lucky enough, for the 8 months that i've been with them there was only two incidents of 20 minutes where their network is harder to reach, apart from that there has been no problems with them for me. In fact, i'm about to upgrade my server from them. Not so hard, because of their low prices. mainarea 08-15-2004, 10:13 AM Originally posted by athlonkmf strangely or lucky enough, for the 8 months that i've been with them there was only two incidents of 20 minutes where their network is harder to reach, apart from that there has been no problems with them for me. How could you possibly miss every single downtime that they had? Granted they are getting better, but going 8 months back, things were hell. I had a server there in June and I saw more than 40 minutes of 500+ms pings and 80% packetloss, not to mention the downtime from anytime they attempted to add a provider or change BGP before July... - Matt ranjitbhar 08-15-2004, 10:16 AM Been 5 Months with managed.com no problems great server, but I too sometimes get frightened reading some of the stories posted here. If you plan to go with managed.com it’s a good idea to pay via paypal and be sure to do backup atleast every 3-4 days, if you dont need support and can manage the server yourself they are good......... athlonkmf 08-15-2004, 03:54 PM Originally posted by mainarea You obviously did not monitor your server. Who knows maybe your servers are on a faulty switch. But blindly assuming things... Actually, it was their faulty core router. But of course, when the core router goes down, your server stays online... Makes lots of sense to me. I didn't have time to read any more threads - you get the picture though, don't you? That's more than 40 minutes. - Matt Punker22 08-15-2004, 09:16 PM Support is really **** during the overnight hours, but here is a hint, send your support problems to reboot@managed.com and they respond fairly quickly :P SniperDevil 08-15-2004, 09:21 PM *Sigh* Another Managed.com thread? Guys c'mon, there are so many of these, do you honestly think anything's changed since two weeks ago? Just go by the old saying, "You get what you pay for." Only for major things (and sometimes not even for those). I Was concerned about that when I started, but the only time I have been charged was for a reinstall ($100 flat fee). I've been with Sago for 8 months now. kyriakos 08-16-2004, 03:15 AM I've been with them for 4 months. Haven't experienced any down time. I can't comment about the support since I've never used it. Punker22 08-16-2004, 03:22 AM support is really slow, but the network has seemed good for the past few months, i know a router at above.net was having problems. but thats it PersonToPerson 08-16-2004, 03:25 AM I use them, i make backups every day. just to be sure. |
