View Full Version : need an idea!
Smes20 01-04-2002, 04:21 AM Ok, I want to start a new website, but I am fresh out of ideas. Anyone got any? I want to do something that hasnt been done and can generate traffic. Got any ideas?
I figured it was worth a shot. :D
:) How about a website where you can go to get ideas on what to make a website about? ...... Hows that for twisting the question around?

Umm good luck.... ;)
bobcares 01-04-2002, 12:13 PM Try to make something very simple. Do not try to be unique, different or anything like that... i.e. try making a perfect ordinary site.
I assure you it would be just great... not many perfect sites out there..
Have a great day :)

Well what type of skills do you have?
And what are your hobbies?
And do you have a partner?

site won't generate traffic until you will not put put some good contents in it.
If you want to go commerically then you need to keep some people to update it on daily bases and keep your visitors recurring.
If this is for hobbie or pasion purpose god bless you. :D

well, that needs lots of software, infrastructure and people to support it. and i guess he is not looking for that kind of site he just want visitors which can generate him traffic ($$$). ;)
may be some kind of link directory (top lists) will work (mp3, software or porno).
BrianF 01-04-2002, 05:52 PM Link directories don't make any money really. Look at yahoo lol, they're in financial trouble.

Can't be in too much financial trouble considering they just bought Hotjobs.com for $436 Million in cash.
BrianF 01-04-2002, 06:28 PM er... was in financial trouble. Thats why they started selling adult related things on their website despite all the huff huff over it, because yahoo is supposed to be a clean site.
I don't really care what yahoo does, but the fact that they raised the premium price for listings really ticks me off!

astralexis 01-04-2002, 06:53 PM How about an adult site?
Planet Z 01-04-2002, 08:29 PM Yeah, porn seems to be the perennial favorite high traffic site.
Rewdog 01-04-2002, 08:47 PM How about a porn site with just ascii art? Stick men? :D
LOL!, I've seen some of that before...
It's hilarious :D :D
