I have an ex-customer who is not happy with our web design work and have request for a refund. (we had refund the amount in full.) While I'm still hosting the website for him, his newly appointed web developers went to the website my company build for this ex-customer and use some pictures that are license to my company only. Does the company that had licensed the pictures to me have the right to sue my previous customer?
Since I have refund back the money to him, does he still have the right to use the pictures I added for him? What are the chances of winning the law suit?

while I'd like to give my opinion, I am not a lawyer. So I'll have to look around for Tina while saying:
If you want legal advice, ask a lawyer. Asking for legal advice on a public forum on the web is probably not the best idea.

Always consult a professional, but youif you did give them a complete refund & depending on what your contact stated, you might e-mail them just to let them know. The new designer might not even know & assume it is the client's

I would suggest sending them a standard cease and desist letter. That usually helps, and if it doesn't then consult with a lawyer.

I'm not a lawyer, but I play one on TV. I would say legal action will be more costly than anything. Seems like you just want to get a little revenge. Thought about contacting the sompany you purchased from them and giving them a heads up on the use of them by the new designer?
I would first off try to contact the new designer, he may not know they are licensed images, might think they are stock.

If the images are licensed to only you and he did not pay for them, you still own the images. Unless you have a buggy contract, this is open for a lawsuit.
