Hi,

I have a few PC's. I am looking for a way to share my monitor with two PC's. Perhaps through some sort of switch box. KVM? The monitor is the essential thing i need switched but i need this as cheap as possible. Whats the best way to do this second to swapping the wires from the monitor to and fro?

As you mentioned, a KVM switch is probably the best option. For a "few" computers, you will probably need a 4 port switch and I've seen them for as cheap as $100 (?). Maybe that's a little more expensive than what you are looking for but I think it's maybe the cheapest option. I was looking into this a long time ago before I decided to just buy an extra keyboard, monitor, and mouse for each box.

Ah they seem a little more expensive than i expected. I already have a spare monitor but $100 seems too much to justify i think. I would only be connecting 2 PC's btw.

For two PCs it isn't worth it IMHO. I have the same problem, but I don't have a spare monitor. Thought about it, then decided to look for a cheepo used monitor. :(
