I am starting a web design and hosting site. We make php/HTML sites. And we want to expand to doing hosting as well. If anyone wants to help us please contact me via PM, email, aim, or ICQ. Thanks.

You might want to post more details,

What kind of help are you looking? What do the helper gets in return?

And some basic background information: who are you? what is your business plan?....

Without these info, it will be difficult to find someone to help.

We are still developing our plans. We are new to hosting. We have only done designing in the past. We charge around $200 per site (for a basic site). I am currently running the design site with my friend. I also run a tech site, called GameHard.

I am looking for someone that knows the host biz and can help me out, because I am a n00b. The person would get a piece of my profits. I am not sure how much, at this time.

Good Enough?:D

Are you looking to be a reseller for another hosting company or are you interested in getting your own dedicated server?

I want to eventually get our own servers.

Some other questions:

How many clients do you currently have? What kind of client?

What kind of profit will the helper gets? What kind of relationship(contract, employee, ...)

Answering these questions will help you find a helper faster.

It's a pretty responsible job. You will have to make contracts with customers, and then be able to follow through with them. You can't just open it up, then close it down two months later. Something to think about.

I'm happy to help, but in the absence of a firm agreement, or sustainable revenues, I'm inclined to limit my participation and exposure.

I run a small hosting service, doing simple webhosting with Perl CGI support, a few value-added sevices, such as shells. Most of my existing users are hosted for free; just friends of mine that needed somwhere to park content. I focus on providing a high degree of server security, implementing such things as a custom CGIwrapper system, and chroot'ed server processes and CGI scripts.

I am not a competent web site designer; when I do write up a web site, it is to impart information, not to sell things, or look pretty. Sometimes I do back-end engine work, such as e-commerce or database engines, but that's the sort of work that I'd want a hard agreement, before getting involved in.

My server sits in my bedroom, on an aDSL line. It's not terrbly fast, nor is physical security up to commercial standards - nor can I stay awake 24 hours a day, to provide 24/7 support.

I am, however, an experienced admin, familiar with issues relevant to hosting web sites, and the server is a powerful, well-designed machine, configured carefully. Given your situation, that's about the best that I'd imagine that you could hope for. The situation can improve, if a solid agreement can be worked out, and sustainable revenues derived, to justify extra effort and/or expenses.
