Had to do a double take, looks kinda like <edit>

When you're not offering as high a grade of server, try not to make everything else look exactly the same :).

<<MOD NOTE:>>
Offers made by jkehe (offers made before the post you referenced) are similar to the one posted above.

Well, EzCool looks like i'm taking a bit of a double take here as well.

http://www.serverhost.com/linux.html

when compared to

http://www.venturesonline.com/hosting/dedicated.html

With an origional screen shot of his site here.

I'm disappointed in your Jeffery.... stealing parts of my site and changing just a few words in it. If you can't be any more creative than that, to steal my companies work then..... Well in short, please deal with the act so I don't have to take any further actions with it.

Happened to my old company before. Someone copied all our tables and even left the same prices, then they came on our support forum and started to spam. I was only wondering if his head had any brain cells.

Stealing/Copying tables is not as bad compared to the whole layout/design, but when you are the original designer it feels sad that people could actually do something like this. How hard is it to make your own table? *geez*

EzCool: The offer is original. Similarity may be seen to offers that we have made in the past - people enjoy copying our offers, but never get yelled at about doing that.

Daniel: The tables are original. I went through and edited the code to eliminate any similarity, to put you at ease. In the future, why don't you be professional about any questions and e-mail me rather than taking any opportunity to smear a competitor (a direct violation of the rules)?

Sincerely,

DanielP

Original?

You call what you did original?!

And please don't lecture me about professionalism, because i'm one to speak my mind, so don't even try and go there. I could care less about what you offer or anything else, you can call it smearing or whatever, I call it catching someone red handed and making it known.

I will acknowledge that you have now changed the tables, however, what gets me is why couldn't you do that to begin with?

Seeing as I took the screen shot shall we compare?

Package names the same <check>
Prices and Wording the same in most tables <check>
the way Bandwidth is split up to make the table smaller <check>
The EXACT same way I bill for bandwidth split up into various blocks for incoming and outgoing rates all the way to 95% <check> (which of course you removed the key factors in the prices in your tables so you totally missed the point of that one.

Exact same wording on the monitoring tools for bandwidth <check>

Same titles for both tables <check>

That about covers it.... I’d say that’s pretty damn similar , wouldn't you?

(let's see if this post gets in before the thread is locked...)

DanielP, while I'll agree that there are marked similarities, I think you're going a bit far in your accusations. Seriously, is it a sign of "stealing" when two people both name their plans "#1", "#2", "#3", et cetera?

If anything, I'd accuse both of you of being rather unoriginal.

While mine may be slightly unoriginal or un-tasteful, him copying it verbatim should not have been done. Coming up with some snappy name for a server really isn't the issue, its a simple fact that he blatantly copied both tables from my site, removed a few words here and put a few words there and called it his own, and the wording which he changed was not significant enough to even half way make them look different from each other.
