If my customers use fake credit cards and then the money has to go back to the credit card account who will pay for the money? Me or 2checkout.com davidb 01-02-2002, 11:13 PM I am pretty sure they will deduct the money from your account. avara 01-03-2002, 06:02 AM You unfortunately. Chicken 01-03-2002, 02:27 PM Errr... why would you think 2checkout would refund the money to the card and let you keep it? Maniac 01-05-2002, 03:22 AM We get a few Frauds every month. 99% now we call our clients and make sure they placed the order. Saves a lot more time in the long run :D Precise 01-05-2002, 03:24 AM Unfortunately it seems to be the way of the Internet. More and more fraud and less protection for the merchants. So, it really makes us as the merchants scrutinize every order for authenticity. Oh well.... Patrick Daytripper 02-07-2002, 03:09 PM Speaking of fraud, I have the option to block by Domain name, IP address, card number or name. My question is"If I want to block all transactions from say Russia, can I enter the block as *.rs(I don't have the code for Russia handy so I just guessed)Anyone know if that wildcard option will work? Lurleene 02-07-2002, 06:34 PM Russia is .ru :D IP addresses have ranges that are for a particular country. For example (I'm just making this one up) Russia might have 85.165.12.167 - 85.902.38.543. Find the range of the country(ies) you want to block and put 'em in. Daytripper 02-07-2002, 07:28 PM Yeah, that's kinda what I'm looking for. Anyone know where to find the blocks of IP addresses that are assigned to each country? Chicken 02-07-2002, 09:10 PM AlaskanWolf (I beleive if memory serves me right) posted a list of IP blocks that he uses. Try searching for that username and in the text search field, ummmm... 'block' or something like that. goodness0001 02-07-2002, 09:47 PM Is there a place you can look up the country IP blocks? Daytripper 02-07-2002, 10:22 PM Yes, that's what I am looking for. The Block of IP addresses assigned to each country Chicken 02-07-2002, 10:37 PM For those who are waiting for me to search and post the URL... here it is... :D First it was GordonH of Hosuteroute.com who complied this list, I was incorrect on the name (it was a guess, sue me). http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=25585&highlight=block Read the 3 page thread, it doesn't end with the first post. Daytripper 02-07-2002, 10:50 PM I had originally posted that my CC processor allows me to block orders based on Name or Domain or IP or Credit card number. But the IP block wants the whole IP, not just the first 2 numbers. That is why I am searching for blocks(groups)of IP numbers for particular countries, I could do the PHP method, just thought the block of whole country by IP would be easier |
