CRego3D 11-09-2000, 12:48 AM I have just about finished my new VDI Control Panel, please take a look
http://testcp:testcp@216.74.69.234/cpanel/
What do you guys and gals think ?
Now, I'm working on the version for VDI (to be distributed to everybody)
PS - Moderators ... feel free to move the thread if you like
Google 11-09-2000, 12:57 AM From 1 - 10 I would give a 8 if i can configure it then i would give 8.5 its good but it doesn't look that good.
netvirtual 11-09-2000, 01:22 AM Looks good, but I cannot navigate to all of the options on the left menu. There is no scroll. I must put IE in full screen to access it. 600 x 800 res.
Chris
CRego3D 11-09-2000, 01:30 AM I use my monitor at 1600, so I keep furgetting most people still use lower res, I'll add the bar there :D
Actually .. it's done .. check it now

sodapopinski 11-09-2000, 03:42 AM CRego3D,
Good work!
But do you offer anonymous reseller plans?
If you do, I would suggest you to remove "Web Center by Wizardshosting" .
Just put Web Center logo..
Bogdan 11-09-2000, 04:28 AM But where does it show transfer usage?
CRego3D 11-09-2000, 09:58 AM sodapopinski
I made 2 versions of it, one with "by Wizards Hosting" and one widouth it (and widouth the CPyright wizards hosting) ;)
My resellers would have a fit if I didn't
Bodgan: transer usage is not showing ? .. gotta check on that, if you don't place the CPanel tags just right, they won't work, that might be the case .. let me check :)
CRego3D 11-09-2000, 09:59 AM Bodgan
Hum,, that was not it, bandwith is working, care to specify what you are looking for ?
Bogdan 11-09-2000, 05:50 PM Hmm...
What I see is:
SubDomains 0
Mysql Databases 2
Disk Usage 0.33 Megabytes
Disk Space Available 99.67 Megabytes
Email Accounts 1
Email Forwarders 2
Auto-Responders 0
Mailing Lists 1
Email Filters 0
Ftp Accounts
Shouldn't trasfer usage be on that list?
CRego3D 11-09-2000, 05:54 PM Bogdan .. haaa .. you thinking of the Alabanza CP ;-)
No the Bandwith is inside Web Statistics, but maybe I should add a Bandwith line at the beginning as well :D
Bogdan 11-09-2000, 06:11 PM Hehe..
I see now.
i suggest you add a logout/quit button..i already have one in my control panel...
<a href="#" onClick="self.close()">Logout</a>
CRego3D 11-09-2000, 08:39 PM humm, thanks, why not :)
but .. what do you think of it ?
looks good :)
one thing you might want to do is to change the border of the table where the little arrows are. i can see the light light blue color.
CRego3D 11-09-2000, 10:27 PM yeah, I fixed it, it was actually an antialias around a small image I used .. it's fixed now :)
Now .. where can I get some automated billing ??
It looks real nice, if I were a client I'd be extremely pleased to have a CP like that. If you can get it all to function properly I think it's a winner. I got a couple JS errors cruising around though.
jer
CRego3D 11-09-2000, 11:45 PM really ? JS errors ? .. I tested it in both NS and IE :(
(now I'm assuming JS=java scripts)
I only have java in the top layers, the rest is all CCS, where didi you got an error ?
The one I remember was in the custom error message editor. When you click one of the code buttons at the top it gives an error. But that could be just because it's a test account..
jer
CRego3D 11-10-2000, 12:55 AM Thanks for the info, indeed it was an error, it's fixed now :)
Jsut wondering if the site is ristricted for personal use only?
if not could you give me the password so that I can see the CP.
Thanks
nama
CRego3D, are you alabanza based or VDI based. I see you have VDI's control panel, but alabanza's data center at http://Wizardshosting.com/network.htm.
I'm confused.
Thank you
CRego3D 11-28-2000, 10:35 PM zip
you are rigth, I used to be at Alabanza (finishing the transfer at the end of this month .. a few more days and I'm done) .. but now I'm at VDI .. the network page is fixed now :)
CRego3D 11-28-2000, 10:36 PM nama .. sorry I didn't saw your post
you can check it out at http://www.cpanel.net

CRego3D 12-01-2000, 02:02 AM I created another version of the CP .. some customers ask me for a ALabanza look a like
http://testcp:testcp@216.74.69.210/cpanel/
what do you guys think ?
I think it looks nice. I am sure some people prefer having all the options available instead of having a few menu buttons and having to click through them.
I just noticed that you have a feature I really like - you have it, very conveniently, so a person to download a backup of their site. That's a really great idea. The average person would not need it, but it's like insurance...just in case you need it. Excellent idea!

Thank you, another great feature coming is the ablility to download your raw logs right from the Web Center (Control Panel) The programmers from VDI/Darkorb are working in some neat features, I love our billing feature as well (that one integrates with billadmin)
i think this is a job well done :)
i will be moving to the Cpanel very soon and i hope that i can make mine look this nice.
did you think it was tough...or pretty straight forward.
i am also curious about the billing featureand the site back up tool? is that standard to all Cpanel users. as i will be using ultraspeed and they basically use all VDI stuff anyway.
just wondering...thanks

CRego3D 12-01-2000, 11:53 PM nate
No the billing feature is not by default
Ultraspeed will have it's own billing feature soon, we are using BillAdmin (we purchased a licence from site5)
The good news is, you will get that Control Panel .. we design the CP's for VDI, so what you see is given for free to anybody in VDI's network

CRego3D 12-08-2000, 09:39 PM Ironlung and Martie .. thanks :)
If you guys ever have any suggestions, please drop me a line
CRego3D 12-18-2000, 02:28 PM Ok .. Another section in the billing (for wizardsHosting) has been finished) .. customers can now see their BillAdmin invoices:
http://testcp:testcp@216.74.69.210:2082/
Got to "Billing"
what do you guys think ?
(ingore the graphics error on top .. I'm working on it right now :) )
questions 12-18-2000, 11:06 PM I like your design for the most part. There is only one thing I would change. Can you change the top frame, so that it takes up a lot less screen? If you do that, I will personally like your design a lot. Thanks.
MySiteHost 12-19-2000, 10:20 AM A good chunk of the program is image files so that people can view a graphical interface, many if the images you have there are about 500 bytes too big, it ads up.
I do like the new setup though, Cpanel3's latest release skin is kind of a pain to remember where all the functions are. In this case it's all on one page. :-) yay!
you may also want to ad alt tags to the icon pics so that you can keep the existing 1-2 word description, yet tell the user what is in that category. for instance:
"Network Tools" could have an alt tag that states simply, domain lookup, traceroutes. etc.
Now back tot he pic optimisation, you will find better load times and little picture quality loss if you optimise these images. Here is an example:
the FTP Manager image is 1577 bytes. at 37% optimisation using the utility at gifoptimizer.com, it knocks the data ammound down to 982 bytes.
If color matching to the background is a problem after optimisation (which could happen, although I doubt at only 37% reduction) you can make the gif transparant to start with so that it conforms to the background color by default.
With all the websites, and servers vdi hosts. I am sure it would add up and end up saving your company mucho buckos in bandwidth alone while making your CPANEL seem faster.
Keep up the good work my friend!
Regards,
Jason Turner
