How much does a "c" class of ips cost, and where would one get them from, or the best place to get them from?

Thanks in advance.

The only place you can get a Class C of IP Addresses is from your Internet provider. As to the cost, that depends. Some ISPs will allocate them to you at no charge, assuming you can justify them. Others will charge you for them, and you will probably still have to provide justification :).

If you want your own routable netblock, you would need to apply to ARIN (assuming you are in the US). HJowever, the minimum ARIN will allocate is a /20 and you will probably have to follow a much more stringent documentation process then if you get the IP address from your ISP.

FYI, everyone uses CIDR now, and there is no such thing as a class "C" IP network. It's now affectionately known as a slash 24 IPV4 network.

Another good way to get a block of IP numbers is to purchase a dot com and all of its assets after it collapses. :)

Oh yeah, the cost to the ISP used to be around $700 a year.
