Hey, me and a few of my buddies are looking into renting a box on the east coast. We are looking at getting one of the P4 2.8 boxes with 1gig ram and a 40gig hd from ezzi.net. We are hoping to host atleast 4 12man privates off it. If we could fit another on it, it would be great. Would you guys recommend this a cheap solution? We are not really looking into selling mass amounts of gaming servers, just a few personal and maybe a few for a friend.

You should have no problems whatsoever.

We have ~40 boxes with EZZI.net and since they upgraded their core routers earlier this year, gameserver sales for us have shot through the roof.

I highly reccomend them now for gameservers :)

I wouldn't say its a cheap solution ($130+), but its definatelly a wise one :)

Hi Tweak,

I tried to go to ezzi.net but it was not accessible. Is this the URL?
What are your hosting budget for a dedicated server?

Have a nice day

I have looked around(alot), and im thinking ezzi.net will be our best buck. And thats great to hear about them being good for gameservers. But do you think we could squeeze 5 12 man cs privates on it?

I tried Ezzi a year or so back for gameservers and had nothing but problems. Im not sure about now since they have upgraded there routers, but Im sure games do alot better now from there network.

If you want to run good gameservers no matter what network you are on , go with Dual Xeons or Dual Opterons. Your clients will be alot happier if you do :)

It would depend what machine you got. If you got a P4 2.8 with HT, and a gig of ram, then most probably.

Also, if you know what your doing (steam wise) you shouldnt have a problem

From what I hear, EZZI does not offer 2.8 with HT at the moment. So we will be getting a 2.8 with 533 fsb.

I used to have servers at ezzi a while back, but left when their network wasnt performing well. Recently I have been playing some counterstrike on a server which I later found out to be hosted at ezzi. Never noticed a problem other than when the cs server itsself crashed. Great ping times too from DC ~10-20ms.

Oktagone what gameserver company are you from? and as I see it - ezzi servers still choke up a hell of a lot

OktaGone

we have 6 dedicated server clients that run gameservers off their machines. If you have a lag issue with an EZZI.net server, then contact them about it, as we do not have a single issue.
