netvirtual 11-08-2000, 12:06 PM I originally was going to do a black website, but changed to white. Can you check this out and see if it is ok? The site is running now.
Let me know if I need to add anything. Another question? Is it wise to use a contact form or is it better to use links right to the email addresses instead?

BTW.....Thanks to Stephanie for the painless setup.
akashik 11-08-2000, 02:09 PM Actually I was wondering much the same thing myself a while ago. Personally I'm going to go for a contact form.
Why?
Well it gives both the person who wants to contact me a better view of what sort of things they can ask in general (via check boxes etc), plus it'll also 'herd' people a little into generalizing their queries into certain areas, making it easier to respond.
Also, unless I'm very much mistaken a spam-bot can't get an email address out of a form right? :)
Oh, I think I commented on the white ver. of your site in the last posting? If not, I like it better. It's different, but not so as to affect potential clients I don't think... I'm not sure it feels 'big' enough though...

netvirtual 11-08-2000, 03:21 PM The problem is, I am so used to writting adult websites, it has become hard to do a regular one. There is so much content with an adult website, you can do just about anything. The regular stuff is a bit different. I wanted to get away from the adult area for awhile. I am feeling burnt out in that area, so I am giving it a rest. Kind of two different worlds out there. I must say, people are much more nicer in the non adult forums.
I basically wanted the site easy to navigate and load fast. I think I accomplished that at least. I'll probably ad some little things here and there. I think I will keep the form also.
Thanks
Chris
_Jack_ 11-08-2000, 04:12 PM Just a comment... when you click on "order now", the URL to the secure order form contains "host*****.hostmatters.com"
i.e. you are reselling for hostmatters
You should hide that url (as a reseller)
netvirtual 11-08-2000, 04:48 PM That slipped my eye.
Thanks.
netvirtual 11-08-2000, 05:27 PM The problem is that I use clickbank.com for the creditcard transactions. They have this real ugly interface. So I am using the shared SSL. At least the forms are in sync with the site.I would rather enter the info manually for now. Their pricing was good, so I went with them. Any suggestions for a card company?

*lol* I know a guy who did much the same thing for a while. At first he felt all his X-mas' had come at once, getting to look at porn all day and make websites. After a few months he was so sick to looking at it all the time he quit. :)
There's a few card places mentioned in this forum. If you have a net merchant account your options are wider, but if you're like me take a look at Instabill.com or better, revecom.com The latter is who I've chosen and am just awaiting activation of my account (sending in some paperwork to New York from Australia).

netvirtual 11-12-2000, 11:29 AM I have decided to go with Instabill. Also waiting activation. Not a bad interface.
While I am waiting, I'll play around with the html. I'm so burnt writting this stuff, everything looks the same. This will be my break period.
When I first start doing adult stuff, it was fun, but after a while, you kind of get sick of looking at nekit pictures. Maybe I am getting too old. Na.....

enter what in manually? if you dont have a merchant account, what you plan on doing is illegal.
netvirtual 11-12-2000, 01:00 PM Yes, found that out. Instabill has what I was looking for. Just waiting for activation. I am glad there is forums like this where you can get the info when you need it.
i signed up with revecom but thats just me :)
did you look at revecom yet? if so, what made you pick instabill?
netvirtual 11-12-2000, 01:35 PM Could not see what their interface looked like. By looking at their website, I figured it was the same color. Just plain white is what I am looking for.
Chicken 11-12-2000, 03:21 PM Revecomand instabill are owned by the same company, so I'd imagine the form will look similar. They seem to be doing something with the site though and someone mentioned that setting up a account has been a slow process (slower than it would normally be I think).
You need a biz bank account to use reve, and if you don't have that, instabill is a decent alternative.
