I received this system alert message:

Subject: [hackcheck] mount failed checksum test

IMPORTANT: Do not ignore this email.
This message is to inform you that the rpm
package mount did not match the expected checksum. This could mean that
your system was compromised (OwN3D). The offending files have been removed
and replaced with the OS default. To be safe you should verify that your
system has not be compromised.

What does this mean? Has my system been compromised? What should I do?

thanks

This is a new script that is now sent to all CPanel based machines that Nick wrote. It checks the packages to alert the admins of any differences (and thus possible compromises).

Many rh 6.2 machines didn't update the mount for some reason so they went off when this script first ran. Don't be alarmed -- this time. :-)
