Go to university and get a very good degree. Then find a high paying job?

Hey,
What do you plan to do with this 10K ...
Just a thought. You must consider starting a hosting business with it and outsourcing support .... I hope you understand .... ;)

Have a great new year...

I saw this link:

http://www.microsoftpromotions.com/superpages/index.asp

This is the last entry period:

From 12/31/01-01/07/02 they are going to choose a winner on 01/09/02.

If you get one of the 8 people they pick you get at least $1,000. If you are real lucky and get picked from one of the 8, you get $10,000!!

This explains it all:

"PRIZE: One (1) Grand Prize will be awarded: $10,000, to be awarded as a check from the Sweepstakes Administrator. Eight (8) Weekly Prizes will be awarded, one (1) per Entry Period: $1,000, to be awarded as a check from the Sweepstakes Administrator. Total value of all prizes: $18,000. Any applicable tax on the prize is the sole responsibility of the winner. No substitution, barter, transfer, or assignment of prize permitted, except by Sponsor at its sole discretion. Limit one (1) Weekly Prize per person, however a Weekly Prize Winner is eligible to win the Grand Prize. All prizes will be awarded via U.S. Mail."

Two step guide to making lots of money:
1. Do at least two of the following: Be very intelligent, work very hard, know the right people, use language effectively.
2. Wait 30 years.

If you don't want to or can't follow step two above, you have three options:
1. Win the lottery
2. Rob a bank
3. Marry rich.

Bullcrap.....30 years? Wait 30 years for what exactly?

I guess start low at a company like microsoft for example and work your way up and in 30 years you'll be making 10,000 a month.

Well, to get a degree, start publishing papers, and gain recognition in your field; or to work your way up the ranks with your employer; or to start a business and slowly expand...

It is very rare for someone to just waltz into a $120K job overnight; in 99.99% of cases people slowly work their way up towards that sort of position.

(case in point: A Rhodes scholar with a DPhil from Oxford, recognized even before he finished his graduate work as one of the leading minds in his field... still only got $90K in his first job after graduating.)

By buddy who used to work for SCO, and now works for Sun Microsystems has made over $120,000 since before he was 30 years old, and he has less college than me.

It just takes being in the right place at the right time with the right attitude.

Unfortunately, the attitude is the only thing that you really have control over.

The biggest thing I can say that I have done is made $36,000 in 3 months.

Just finished paying the taxes for that money I made.

I heard that the eBook trade is really big now. Why don't you go bid for an ebook selling site on eBay and then advertise like mad? I'm sure you can get a few people to buy at least, but I dón't know about $10,000...

3 things r knowcking my brains

1) Ebook selling
2) Start a web hosting company with outsourced support
3) A very specifically tragetted portal with great metasearch and directory and earn by Affiliate links and sponsership.

I guess these ideas can make me atleast 50000$ in 3-6 months and 1 million in a year or two or maybe a little more.

Thanks for feedback Guys

You can always try and get a job with GM or Ford, etc.

But you would want to live in the northern states of the US in order to really "enjoy" your working there. If you work in a southern plant, you'll practically die from the heat within the shops.

My stepdad brought home $10,000 after taxes.

But then again, when he retired it worked there for 33 years.

Most of the time, you can't come into money over night. It takes time and sometimes years in order to get where you want to be. You'll have to work at it.

Only if the project is very successful.

There'd be a heap of hosts out there barely touching the $100k mark.

But the academic world has never been known for good pay. It's a damn shame, and even unfair that the greatest minds don't get the greatest money. But in terms of what it takes to make big money, academia is not a good benchmark. Business is where the money flows, and I think fast money is quite plausible there.

Alright Everyone, I will reveal my secret to making alot of money in a little time. Heres how you do it.

Start of with $1,000.00. Then, start a small club and tell people that they can join for $1,000.00 each. Then, tell the members that they will get $500.00 for every member they bring into the club, that pays the initial fee of $1,000.00. Then, each of those people will get people to join the club and they will make $500.00

Its that simple, just dont let the United States Government get in the way.

....lol...j/k

Jim

You could do jimb's pyramid scam... errr... "club membership" idea. Otherwise basically you're stuck working good and hard for the clients. That's the only way both of you will win in the situation. They get a good amount of work, you get a good amount of hard-earned money. Working as what? Got me! Find a niche in your community or local city and stick to it.
