View Full Version : I really would like to learn.

I want to know how I can start learning to become a host, specifically because in the future I might want to start my own business.

I'm looking to a cheap alternative, I don't want to waste $150 a month to rent out a private server. Possibly even a free alternative if it's there. :(

I already am very fluent with linux commands, etc. because I've been using them to program in C/C++ for my MUDS (text-games), so I know almost all the regular commands: chmod, dir, ls, tar, etc.

I need to be able to figure out how to install/remove software and things like Apache/MySQL/ and I need to learn WHM/Cpanel. Any and ALL ideas are appreciated, thank you very much for help.

There is linux virtual machine for windows (you get linux window at your windos desktop), its like real linux box - you could learn software installation.

i dont remember the product name , you could search the web or i will ask our developers tomorrow (they use it).
