Quick answer: No.

There are "programs" out there to allow resellers to make resellers. But they are pure trouble in my eyes.

You could always ask your host to split your reseller into two accounts maybe and rent the other one off but not many would and could be troublesome.

Many hosts will give you a discount on additional reseller plans, which you can then resell as your own. If you pick the right provider, with fast support, the setup times will not be a problem (usually minutes, not hours).

I honestly don't think these 'automated' programs are the way to go - the more we automate things, the more we are letting people who really don't know how to administrate a server provide root services. Bad for the industry...

Definitely a risky business.

I advise my resellers to buy another reseller unit and just sell it at their chosen price to the customer. I don't have their customers details and hence never contact their customer about the unit, I leave that all down to them!

I whouldnt recommend it. Too much trouble i thinks :stickout: If you wanted to do a resellers the safe way is to rent a dedicated server and do it that way :)

You should look around for a host that offers dedicated servers with the H-Sphere control panel. This system will allow you to sell your own Private Label reseller plans that can even be dual platform. So your customers could even offer both Windows and Linux plans that they create for the pricing thery want. Basically it is a complete Hosting Automation system that is scalable, and provides you the ability to capture any type of shared server hosting business.

You can find out more detail on this control panel and the companies that use it at www.psoft.net (http://www.psoft.net)

the main reason why that is not allowed is because:
if a problem arises with a client on the reseller account you created they would have to contact their host (the reseller account you made) and then that reseller needs to get on to you (the main reseller) and then you need to get on to the host.

makes the business inefficient its not advised that yo do so

I thought there was a WHM setting when you set up accounts to allow them to make reseller accounts?

You will see that what you are referring to go by the alias of "Power Resellers" or "Semi-Dedicated Resellers". Yes, these accounts can or cannot be troublesome. As long as everything remains professional and business is done properly then you and your provider shouldn't have too much to worry about.
