They are fasthosts resellers:
Prove:
http://hostonce.com/support1win.html
ns1.livedns.co.uk and ns2.livedns.co.uk
All FastHosts.Co.Uk resellers...
Meaning: Bad, bad, bad. If the reseller goes over 10 GIG or 3 months, whichever comes first the account will be closed.
im sure there are some restrictions...but some people said they were great so I thought I'd include them, but personally I wouldnt go for any website that says unlimited! http://phpwebhosting.com they say they offer unlimited space (well 125 megs and u ask them any time you want) and also unlimited Transfer.... Anyways, they wouldnt be on my purchase list!

No downtime, eh? Or so they advertise. "Timmy" the owner of Paradise Designs is a joke. At another message board, when he started to advertise his site under the guise he was a customer and had "experience with them", I posted stating he was indeed the owner. He then proceeded to IM me on AIM and ICQ relentlessly.
Howard547 01-01-2002, 09:27 PM i think that http://www.successfulhosting.com is pretty good. they have live customer service chat on there web site, and they have fair prices, ive been with them for a couple of months.

To have the account restored, contact Customer Service.

Ender 01-03-2002, 03:02 AM I've been with JaguarPC (http://www.jaguarpc.com) for a year now and I've enjoyed the quality of their service tremendously. There's no better choice in my book.

TimPD 01-05-2002, 01:56 PM We're working on changing our site with a new design. No We don't host for free if you send us a english text book. So keep checking our site and you will see a new design :).
Thanks for the links everybody!!! :)

Well, my day is ruined now :-(
Seriously, before you work on a new design, I'd hire a copy editor of non-southern -descent-.
Incognito 01-05-2002, 04:15 PM A couple of hosts who consistently seem to have positive comments.
www.successfulhosting.com
I have used for several accounts and will continue to when Alabanza is required. Their service has always been excellent.
www.venturesonline.com
They have always received good reviews on this forum. However, they are in the midst of a major move so might be a little touch and go at first.
iceishot.com 01-05-2002, 04:51 PM Nice list!
skylab 01-06-2002, 01:14 AM www.phpwebhosting.com is a great choice.
i was using upwards of 35gb/month bandwidth with them and the first time they emailed me regarding it, they let me know they were moving my site to a better server in order to handle it. not bad for $10 a month at all. i'm not saying they offer that to anyone and everyone, but they went above and beyond the call of duty to work with me for almost 6 months.
they definately get a thumbs up from me.

why don't you provide a link to your website then? I mean, unlimited just SUCKS! it's a rip-off and people mostly say that phpwebhosting sucks! whatever...
and seriously, 35 gb a month and u dont even provide a link? Just : WHATEVER
skylab 01-07-2002, 05:29 PM haha. you can chill out first.
second, you can go read the phpwebhosting site again and see that they're not offering "unlimited" anymore and haven't for almost a year now. NOT that i'm saying their "unmetered bandwidth policy" is something better to offer.
third. i have nothing to prove to you so you have no need to see any of my domains. i've been offering my help and posting about my experiences with certain companies on here for a few months before you were posting on here, so keep your whatever and maybe take a breather before you post. i'm not a new user, nor have i just registered yesterday and popped up offering my glowing review of phpwebhosting(which i don't even have a glowing review. they're a good host for the price they offer. sure they had problems in the past, but they've fixed alot of them). there's no reason to attack.
you can also re-read my post and notice i said "i <b>was</b> using...". meaning, i'm no longer a part of their clientele. it got to the point where a dedicated machine was the better route for my sites.
if you didn't want people posting their opinions/experiences on a what in their opinion was a good host, then perhaps you should have thought for a second before creating this post.

Pixel26 01-07-2002, 08:38 PM I have been with GearHost.net (http://www.gearhost.net/) since Friday night (not long, I know). But I have enjoyed nothing but top class service from them since then, the CEO & Founder of the company (who frequents these forums under the username 'ryank') has even entered into e-mail conversation with me to help me with some problems I was having. You get a dedicated IP with all their plans so even during nameserver changes and such you can still access your site, they have ASP, CFM, PHP and Perl. I really can't recommend them enough, their support staff are helpful and courteous and very responsive (I have had 3 tickets resolved in the last hour), they do not pretend to be perfect and they will admit when they make a mistake. Theit control panel software is shaping up to be pure excellence, I just really cannot recommend them enough. If I had to give out about anything it's the fact that they charge $8.00 per month for a mailing list. I have no financial or otherwise interest in GearHost, I am just 110% satisfied with their service. I recommend them heartily.

You have GOT to be joking. I'm sorry, but I can see, just by looking back through these messages that they have been *supposedly* improving their service for more than a year now. I have been with them for most, if not all of that year, and I have seen NOTHING but degraded service throughout the whole time. In fact, in just the last couple of months they have had many crashes, had to replace a disk, and on more than one occasion had the server date set incorrectly (not talking an hour, or day off, but almost a month off!!), and, just use your imagination and think about what a server date set several weeks in the past will do to an active message board. I don't have to use my imagination, because I've experienced it first hand and it's NOT pretty. It still takes them DAYS if not WEEKS to respond to a support question (via their support interface) and then they may, or may not fix the problem in question. You wonder why I've not moved yet? Well answer is, in the last month I've tried 1 new host that didn't work out and have just applied for a new one. So color them gone as far as I am concerned.
I wouldn't reccomend phpwebhosting to my worst enemy (well, maybe I would hehe).

Might I suggest that before you go ragging on someone else's grammatical and/or spelling errors, you work on your own first.
The word you were looking for is descent.
-Bob
Jeff Rambo 01-09-2002, 03:05 PM That would be correct, Bob. However it is one thing to know the correct spelling and mystipe [sic] it. It's a whole different animal when you have copy like that which appears on the Paradise Design site.
Edit: Thanks for pointing that out by the way, error corrected.
TimPD 01-11-2002, 12:57 PM We haven't copied a site. Don't you accuse us of copying. He is right don't go ragging on another person grammar go check up on your own.
JustinK 01-11-2002, 01:29 PM I don't believe he was meaning "copy" as in dulipicate, but instead as in printed text.

Don't worry, Timmy. It's obvious you didn't copy no site. But while we're at it, here is a little tip: look up the word "copy" at www.m-w.com. Place emphasis on 4b and 4c.
While I believe that one should present himself here as he does there, I will admit that I do not place as much emphasis on using textbook grammar when it comes to bulletin boards as I do with the copy of my company literature. However, I can claim to have a 9-1 ratio when it comes to clear and coherent posts vs. the opposite.
J.K., thanks for providing temporary clarification.
Not going to turn this into a flame fest, but you need to get your act together if you expect to be taken seriously. Being young is not an excuse.
TimPD 01-11-2002, 02:18 PM ok,
Just wanted to point it out that we haven't copied a site.
Also what makes you think I'm young?. We're being serious as I said the site is in the process of being remodeled. There will be no grammar errors or spelling errors on it and I should fix the current ones but why waste your time when your going to take it down and put up a new one in a few days or 1 week or less I mean :). If you find any grammar errors on the new site you're more then welcome to point them out and we will fix them. But you shouldn't rag about it. I don't mind someone pointing out a few errors or typos that we made while working the site. Thank You for pointing out the errors.
Mester 01-12-2002, 12:31 AM I'm surprised no one has mentioned www.phenominet.com here yet. I'm on 30gb plan for $10/month burning 15-20gigs/month no problems at all. Great support.
I'm also looking into www.gearhost.com which someone already mentioned, anyone else had experience? :)

I've hosted my firms account (as the site is not available to the public at the moment] with GearHost and we've had no problems whatsoever but for more input, search the forums for "GearHost" and it'll come back w/ a lot of good and fresh insight that may help you make your decision. To summerize though, if you're looking for a windows host, you'd be committing a crime not to jump on the wagon at GearHost.
Pixel26 01-12-2002, 04:29 PM To summarize my opinion of GearHost, I cannot recommend them any more highly. They are the best host I have ever used.
Mester 01-12-2002, 06:11 PM Hehe ok thanks, I think that was my first post here, before I discovered the 3 page thread about gearhost :) I will be signing up with them as soon as they get their shared linux servers up and running. :D
