Hi there,

I can't quite explain what is going on, so i took pictures :). This is on a slackware 8.0 box running linux 2.2.19 and apache v1.3.20 (0.0.02 off current, ~2 months old?). The box only has one ip bound to it, is cable, and i do some small webhosting off of it (originally i intended to setup a small webhosting co through that, but without a convinient method of payment, i soon gave up). It runs 3 webpages right now:

www.porcupineconsulting.com (http://www.porcupineconsulting.com)
www.walkinfaith.com (http://www.walkinfaith.com)
www.prioritycolocation.com (http://www.prioritycolocation.com)

the problem is this, about 1/200 of the time, it loads the page wrong. This occurs at random it seems, and no admins i have talked to have ever seen anything quite like it, heres the pictures my friend took when it last happened:

http://pc1.porcupineconsulting.com/apache1.jpg
http://pc1.porcupineconsulting.com/apache2.jpg (http://pc1.porcupineconsulting.com/apache1.jpg)
http://pc1.porcupineconsulting.com/apache3.jpg (http://pc1.porcupineconsulting.com/apache1.jpg)

notice each time he is trying to load www.prioritycolocation.com, these are all < 1 minute apart. If anyone has ever seen this apache bug? or whatever it is before, could they please give me some input?

Could it be a memory problem on the client computer? Does this only happen to your friend or to multiple people? What looks fishy to me is the top of the images where the windows aren't properly defined. It's as if the computer is out of memory and can't properly view the page, or is just getting rid of some memory and it doesn't properly load the page until it's done (and you then reload because it looks funny).

I've had that happen to me many times and it looks similar to those pics.

I could be wrong though...

No, he's got 3 windows open only slightly overlapping each other producing that affect. It's a problem with the server, i'm 99.9% sure, because its happened to numerous people, numerous configurations running ie5.5 and 6.0, didn't bother asking people about other browsers, not many use 'em. The only pattern i've found is it often happens after a modification is made to the page...... (it just happened to me < 5 minutes ago after modifying a page to include a counter).

Hi!

I do not see anything wrong with your sites.
Also I would not agree on this being an apache bug. I think this is more to do with the client side computer or some configuration problem with your httpd.conf.

My suggestion would be to try these sites on websitegarage.com and see the results.

Have a great day :)
