If you're asking about WHERE you can backup a dedicated server to, I highly reccomend Tranxactglobal.

http://www.tranxactglobal.com/

I push about 20gb of backups to them daily.

Which, of course, count to your traffic, aren't they?

Not completely sure I understand your question. If your asking does it count against your traffic on your server, of course, that's a no brainer.

Tranx does not charge you for bandwidth usage (I hate the term unlimited). They charge you for the physical space and that's it.

Their backup price includes traffic.

Of course, it will count as outgoing traffic in the original server, unless your server is also at GNAX and you ask them (and pay a fee) to make a direct connection.

The only place I know that does this is TP with their TC line of servers where you get 40gb nas backup storage....

Sirius, I am on another thread, and it has been suggested that inexpensive backups (like yours) may be too slow when restoring (?). Have you evern restored from backup, and what is the performance like.

If not, do they have any specs on the restore. Let's assume there is a very fast pipe on the other side.

The best restore is to copy full accounts from another server. The restore from a remote cpbackup tarball is not always successful. You have to /home wget the tarballs and only then restore the accounts. The process, however, is accompanied by too much noise.

Imago, just to clarify. Are you saying that remote restore is highly susceptible to permanent failure? (or has to be tried multiple times to succeed).

To copy full account, that means getting shell access to a unix account on a server in the same farm?
